Default What do you think of this 911 Turbo S

Hi -

My current daily driver is a 2007 911 S which I adore. My weekend car is a 2012 Ferrari 458. The clutch in my 911 is killing my knee. It's been going on for about a year now so I need to get out of a three pedal which I am not happy about. Anyhow, I'm looking for a new daily. I have it down between a 2018 911S and a 2017 911 Turbo S. Which is probably too much car. But anyhow what do you think about this deal? Seems decent to me. I'm not worried about mileage because it would be a daily.

I think that's a good price for that car. It's nicely equipped and looks to be pristine. Ferrari 458 is my next car for sure, to join the 911. My friend owns an exotic car rentals facility and I borrowed his 2009 Ferrari F430 for the weekend, while he borrowed my Hellcat(what a trade off lol), and that engine alone is worth the price of jumping into a Ferrari, just intoxicating.

Good luck with your choice, but I do like the one you linked in the post. Plus, you'll get AWD from the Turbo, for a daily driver. For me, that would tilt it towards the Turbo S.

Overpriced and underwhelming build. Due diligence on history and carfax etc. ?

Sounds like the 2018 991 S would be better fit for the mission.

Have you driven a 991 with a manual? Maybe it might be better for you? Man, I am sincerely sorry for you but I hope that never happens to me.

Thanks. I owned a F430 before the 458. great, great car. really raw and the exhaust note was the best ever.

yes but that was about four years ago. maybe i will try it again. it really is too bad. i've been in denial for the last year. it'll go away for a few weeks then my left ankle and knee will start aching. keeps me up at night at least three days a week. i'm not even 40 yet either i feel like an old man.

history seemed fine. the price seemed in line with other asking prices. i wasn't a fan of the colors of the build but it has a ton of options

What options is it missing? It's a Turbo S so it comes with just about everything. Okay, it doesn't have deviated stitching, but it's not missing much else. Have you ever even looked at a Turbo S?

There doesn’t appear to be a clear picture of the rear badges but the ones there are enough to tell that they are not in factory locations. The S is too high and the 911 is off (too vertical and numbers not aligned properly). There might be an explanation for it but things like that always make me wonder.

not related to the car, but you may want to get that pain checked out. It may not be because you are getting old. FYI I,m younger than 40 and had pains that started like how you described.

as far as the daily driver, maybe the S is better suited for comfort.

This may be a stupid question, but any chance of fixing the knee?

Wow, good eye! I think you're right, at least about that "S" being too high. I looked at some close ups of new ones for sale and the S is definitely lower. No way would I have seen that even if I was standing behind the car.

Only other 17’ turbo S I can find that compares is a black one on eBay for $153k and only 9k miles. If you’re set on the silver one go for it. I think the asking is about right for the market. These prices will drop and there will be many 991 turbos here once the 992 turbo comes out. Just saying

I just purchased a '17 Turbo (not S) convertible for 135 with about the same miles.
