Default Transfer Case Problems on 991.2 TTS?

Hi Guys,

Contemplating a 991.2 TTS and maybe a Cayenne S. Been reading the Cayenne Forum a bit... and it seems the Transfer Case in the Cayennes had a design problem related to a poorly designed vent that ultimately takes in (road) water and then leads to failure. The fix has been to replace the transfer case with a revised version that vents air from within the engine bay (as opposed to under the vehicle where it takes in water). This fix... plus changing the TC fluid frequently (eg every other oil change) seems to be the direction Cayenne owners seem to have gone.

QUESTIONS: Does anyone know if the 991.2 TTS uses the same Transfer Case as the 958 Generation (particularly the later 2016-2018 model years) Cayenne S/GTS vehicles? Anyone witness problems with the TC in your TTS? Did you have Porsche replace it? What was the fix?

thx,
L76

Default So... no problems with 991.2 TTS transfer case?

Seen a lot of views on this post, but no replies. Safe to assume no one has seen this problem?

cheers,

Know a few .2 TTS owners, both cars have been raced and launched a lot and have a decent amount of miles on them , neither has had any transfer case issues nor any issues at all for that matter.

I've not heard / seen any issues at all, and I follow lot's of high hp / modded cars that get launched a LOT.

Same. If there were any problems it would be revealed quite quickly. My question is - do we know the TC is the same in the 991.2's? I find that kind of surprising.

There also is added weight of Cayenne that adds more stress IF they are same or similar....
