Tire Pressure Question
Any idea why they have the tire pressure for 911 GTS, 911 4 GTS, and 911 Targa 4 GTS at 31 for the front and 36 for the rear in comfort mode, and they list the Turbo and Turbo S at 34 for the front and 43 for the rear? The tires are the same size and both are for comfort mode?
Thanks,
Eric

They tell you to run those high pressures because they want to cover their butts if you load the car down with max people and luggage and run over 200mph. Alternatively, if you run it at 32 front, 35 rear, the "Comfort" setting in the TPMS is happy and does not give off any warnings, so that means it's safe. Do not run the tires at the high setting, and ignore the dealer...they don't understand these cars at all.

I've been ruining at these pressures since I had the TTS and MP4S. I ran the same on my previous 991 4S.
More comfortable ride and I think the tires perform better.

I have no idea if there's anything to this, but I read somewhere on Rennlist once that the right cold pressures result in a 10% increase when fully warmed up - i.e., if the increase is greater than 10% you're running too soft as the related rolling friction is higher than it should be and therefore generating excess heat, and if the increase is less than 10% you're running too hard??? It is notable that Porsche wants the pressures way up there if you're going to be on the autobahn.

After reading this thread, I adjusted the pressures down to 31/36, and it's a world of difference. Feels like a new car with WAY better traction and much more comfortable ride.
Irony is that I always adjust tire pressure into the low 30's (hot) on track with my GT4, just never thought about it with the TTS. Huge SMH moment for me. Thank you all for the thread and great advice!
