It’s easily deactivated with the push of a button.
They’re illegal in Colorado too. I think most people leave them activated, but then quickly deactivate them when they receive a laser signal and slow down. This allows the police to get a reading on the second attempt, after the car has slowed.

This is nice. I just got uniden r3. Just a simple windshield one. Thinking of just returning after driving home with it. Constantly beeping, flashing. Real annoying. Reminds me of 1994 when my dad got a Mitsubishi Galant and I gave him a Cobra detector as a gift. Feels ancient for me versus using WAZE. I bet your shifter setup isn't the same feel.

For your R3, go into the menu and activate "Quiet Ride", turns off alarms under the speed limit you set

Signature Audio in Scottsdale did the install. David, the owner, has been doing Porsche's and other high end cars for many years. He had several others including a GT2RS there on the day I brought mine in.
He also installed a front camera to see the curbs while parking, very nice addition

Nice install Elliot.
I wish there was a better/cheaper upgrade path for people that have the old built in system. To go out and spend another 4000....ugh. I do like the stealth of the built in systems though.
