Thoughts on the TTS Cab
1) overall thoughts on the spec (she wants black on black) 2) at what price would you consider this a good deal? Update: I bought a .2 C4S Cab from a different dealer (see below). Input on adding X51 power kit DIY welcome |
regarding the cabriolet, it's awesome! I don't really notice a difference driving a cab vs coupe, they are both air tight, but what a difference being able to put the roof down, it's such a nice driving experience, like two cars in one.
regarding the car you are looking at, it does not have the Burmeister stereo which is a must have for me, much better sound in my opinion however, it does have lane change assist and front axle lift, which are very nice to have all the other options are fine price is also very competitive, given 12K miles on the clock, there is probably 5-10 K negotiating room in the price, if they don't budge much then make them certify it, actually I would make them certify it regardless black on black is beautiful but as you know will show any dirt, to me it only looks good when clean good luck and I hope that helps |
I think about $10-15K too high. I just a 2017 TTS coupe MSRP of $206K for $155K with 3200 mile.

cabs run a little higher |
I wanted to circle back to say thank you for the input. Unfortunately the dealer and I weren’t able to meet at a mutually agreeable price, so I ended up picking up a 2018 C4S with under 5k miles for ~22% off msrp with over 3 years of the factory warranty plus cpo. Now waiting for the Techart wing to be delivered and next week it gets the full ppf/ceramic treatment. Wife is happy and now I have a coupe and cab now just have have to convince her to let me install the x51 powerkit. Anyone with experience diy install on a 991.2? Anything particularly tricky about getting the turbos pulled? (I’ve pulled the muffler and cats on another car). |
Have the same in 2015 vintage.
Only advice. Get paint correction, wrap (front) and a full double ceramic coating before delivery. That will allow you to get the car to perfect look much quicker. Black shows everything so you will get annoyed once it gets a film of dirt on it which is quickly achieved. Remember you can't use car washes with that top so just spraying the hose on it is a benefit well worth the cost. Other dealers than MM will do that for you at reasonable cost/in lieu of discount/ ADM on new cars. Beat advice I can come up with. #2 get the clear side markers from pelican/suncoast. Those orange atrocities have no place on a B/B build. Extra credit: deviated stitching in silver or black? That's how you know the dedication of the original B/B configuration first owner. |
