Proper method to lower motor
Hey guys I’m a new owner of a 991 turbo and for maintenance purposes spark plug changes it’s Cetera I am looking for the proper method and steps to lower the motor a couple inches or so thank you in advance Mike ps. On my old 996 turbo motor you could just Support it from the engine case |

We need a DIY for this!
I was scared to do this when I did the plugs and just worked around without lowering the engine and it was a hell of a tough time. :surr: |

You dont need a transmission jack. Assuming you are using a quick jack or jack stands to raise the vehicle, just a hydraulic car jack with a piece of plywood or 2x4 to support under the oil pan is all that is needed. Then follow the directions I posted above. Make sure the plywood is large enough to support the enitre oil pan. I have done this on my 991ttS many times with no issue. |
