15 was without tune, we want to see what each mod added by itself, that probably doubled after tuning

Reviving an old thread. I did the DO88 plenum and y-pipe on my 991.1 and the plenum was a bit of a pain to install. The hose on the back that has the brass barb is considerably off from where the stock hose is routed. I had to remove it from the mounting brackets upstream to get enough slack to get it to mount and that was quite a task. I had to remove other brackets for lines and hoses to be able to reach back and get to it. I have small hands and arms for reference. The coupler hose on the left was also a bear but I eventually got it on there. The plenum took a good hour and a half to get on. Y-pipe was easy and everything lined up. I didn't have to trim anything. While I was there I was able to tweak the CSF intercoolers and the shrouds I already had installed and now the bumper cover fits with no issues (I was rushed on the original install).
DO88 instructions are pretty good. It doesn't quite go through the removal of the rear spoiler and associated parts that well.
Also took the opportunity to install a BMC air filter. Taking a phased approach on the build up.
I also found two nails in the right rear tire... Once that is replaced then it's a Sam custom tune.

I normally flip my Sports car every two years. On my 2019 TTS that passed in March. Now in December nothing excites me more than the 991.2 TTS. So I’ll keep it until the 918 like 911 debuts in 2023/2024. So I’m holding on and enjoying just how good the 991.2 is.

With that decision made, I kept seeing the failure in the picture below. So to be proactive and make it bulletproof, I contacted my man Sam. He set me up with a complete DO88 inlets, IC’s, Y pipe, etc. package. Should be a fun installation !

That makes sense. Are you replacing stock intercoolers with these? I feel similarly about nothing else being appealing. My 992 TTS allocation came up last week for a June 2022 delivery date and I told them to bump me down the list so I could get a 992.2 hybrid when those come out.

I have a feeling we are going to be geeking out on some data buddy. Every time we have one of our sessions I learn something
Can’t wait!

I spy an IPD Y pipe.

Just a heads up, fitment is good not great with the Do88 hoses and that whole package. Bumper won't sit 100% flush where it meets the rear quarter panel.

Take your time trimming the IC brackets.

Yes. The entire Big Pack plus the Inlet System.

OK i'm intrigued. So please tell me what these additions will do and.........what are the stress/fatigue points on the 991.2? Do the intakes crack? What should I be concerned about?

On a bone stock car , I would not worry about anything.

On a car with even a Stage 1 tune, there is a potential for the glue line on the plastic y pipe to weaken over heat cycles, etc. The glue gets hot, gets weak and the y pipe blows the cap off. Even tuned, it is a VERY small percentage, but does happen. So I decided to go bulletproof.

Performancewise, they reduce the inlet pressure drop (restriction) on the turbo’s about 0.8psi and reduce the outlet pressure drop (restriction) through the IC’s and piping about 1 psi. That will put the turbo’s in a better position on their compressor map for a bit more power with a cooler discharge. The IC’s will greatly reduce inlet air temperature due to their mass. The DO88 IC is 5.3” thick vs about 3.1” for stock…..that is huge in IC world. Plus no plastic end tanks or y pipe to fail. Win win.
