Searched for part weights on here and 6Speed. Plus the Official Porsche Turbo S pdf.

Porsche lists the base Curb weight of a Turbo S at 3,528 lbs. No options. Car and Driver scaled one at 3,571 lbs non sunroof car with less than a full tank of fuel. Must have been a very low option car on fumes.

I ordered my car with as few weight options as I could stand to make it a "lightweight". I'm very curious what it will weigh with a full tank of fuel on my Intercomps. I was hoping for 3,599lbs but doubt that now. No sunroof, FAL, Burmester (Porsche pdf claims the Bose is 13lbs lighter due to one Amp vs two), no seat cooling.

Weight loss plans so far:

Stock exhaust = 58lbs. Kline Inconel (On my scales) = 19lbs = 39lb loss.
Rear seats = 22lbs (6Speed) = 22lb loss
Stock battery 54lbs (Thanks to Randyc151) Braille Lithium that I have is 18 lbs. = 34lb loss.

Those three combined will drop 95lbs. Fairly significant.

Potenial future weight loss:
Stock front wheel = 23lbs. HRE LW101 = 17lbs
Stock rear wheel = 27lbs. HRE LW101 = 21lbs.
Another 24 lbs total and it's a bonus rotational weight loss.

Stock Front Seat with heat/cooling = 63lbs.
I'm not going to one piece seats like I have in another car. Potentially it would save 80lbs.
Hopefully, no cooling fans/wiring saved 5 lbs per seat for a 10lb loss.

Any other weight loss suggestions ?
Lol...you are awesome! I haven't asked you myself yet - but what ARE the goals here T? You building this car? I am going the complete opposite direction as yourself - but it doesn't mean I am not seriously interested in seeing your plans!

Awesome! I ask about the boat trip time specifically (time in port to time to pick up as well), because someone I know has their car on a boat (ordered Jan 29)...much heavier than yours though lol...

Congrats again - this is exciting!

Thanks T - I think Halifax is the first port...so it could be a little earlier...did you track your car on the Ship?

Yes, until it is roughly 100 miles off coast. Perfect for watching it leave and arrive for free. You can pay, I did not, for the entire trip track with Sat.

Time to update my progress :

Car baselined at 3570lbs with a full tank of fuel. Ordering it as light as I could really helped here.

First mod was a 50Ah Braille that weighed 18lbs vs the OEM 52lbs. I've let the car sit for 3 days with the doors open/closed many time working on the rear seats, etc. and zero start problems after I finished. Excellent mod. Saved 34Lbs.

Next mod was the Kline Inconel Exhaust system. Without 100cell cats it weighs 19Lbs. With 100cell cats it weighs 24Lbs. I took the 5 Lb penalty since we have annual inspections here plus road stop inspections with mirrors . OEM exhaust weighs 42lbs. Saved 18lbs plus looks much better and flows 1000cfm at 28"h20 vs 850cfm OEM on my bench.

Next to the rear seat. If you want to do this mod I would recommend doing the backs and floor mats only. That's an easy mod, looks good and saves 12Lbs. I also took out the seat belts to remove possible rattles (OCD) , and that was a P A I N for 4 more lbs. I saved 16 total Lbs. Some pics on how to remove/reinstall some of the plastic bits :

If you tackle the seat belts, it also takes a special 12 point socket bit called a Triple Square 10mm.

Total weight loss so far is 68lbs. Brings my TTS down to 3502lbs with a full tank of fuel. Will be hard to get much more. Could remove 5lbs of washer fluid and leave 5 in it. Possibly 24lbs reduction in rotational weight with HRE 's.
