All that said, both cars are great, but I took more than a $35k hit to upgrade. The 991.2 is also holding up on value much, much better than the .1.

As to tuning, it really depends on the relationship with your dealer. My local dealer told me they would not cover any engine/trans warranty if I added a tune to either car, so tuning with a CPO may not be possible anyway.
...plus there are so many Dyno charts, and instrumented tests to back it up.

When I first got my .1 TTS I felt the car was under-powered, it went for an upgrade right away with not even 2 weeks of ownership: new cats, new mufflers, tune, it got to where I liked it. This tuned .1 was still slower than a .2 TTS I test drove in 2017, but the price gap at the time (new '17 TTS vs used on trade '15 TTS) was $80k. I passed on the .2 TTS and wanted to wait for the gap to come down. I then went IC, Plenum, headers, catless, all Kline inconel stuff, car diet, finally got the power levels I considered impressive.

0-100mph on my VBox same closed test road on my bone stock 560 TTS was 6.8 at best (0-60mph in consistent 2.5-2.7 secs). Same car with its current state of tune does 5.8secs (and 60mph get in the 2.3x-2.5x all the time). A bone stock 991.2 TTS get to 100mph close to 1/2 sec quicker than a .1 TTS, big gap.

The .2 has better shocks, (all 718s and 991.2 cars) they have shock position sensors and shock rod velocity factored into the PASM control, this is one of the reasons the DSC V3 controller improves even more over these already improved 2017 cars in the handling department. The DSC V2 doesn't control the new shock stuff (I learned this from DSC by trying to install my V2 into my 2019 GT3 RS).

For street use, I would save the money. If the itch to get extra power comes, many affordable options are available. For track use, I would go straight to 991.2 Turbo S, when set to proper camber, replaced main springs and a DSC V3 with correct track wheels/tires (Hoosier has 20" now), the car is perfect. Just bag the PCCB rotors and run either a full AP Racing steel brakes kit or the aftermarket proven Surface Transform direct replacement CCB rotors (I'm leaning towards the AP Racing stuff for my .2 GT3 RS, as I like my tire options in 19").

CPO warranty is tricky. It depends on the dealership and state/country you are in, but I've been told by a few unnamed dealerships that (1) while the dealership has to prove the modification caused the reason for the repair, most will deny coverage anyway and put the burden on you, and (2) upgrading the turbos will void your drivetrain warranty.

As far as an ECU tune, I know several here reflash their ECUs back to stock before bringing it into a dealership for service, but I haven't heard whether the dealership can detect this.

991.1 can be tuned with the Cobb AP. Not yet and maybe never for the Cobb and 991.2. Cobb can be reflashed to stock in 10 minutes and I have not read any reports of dealers denying coverage based on a Cobb tune.

With all the respect due Randy, 7 mph out of 163 (or 170) is what?- about 4%. This is a difference which can easily be attributed to a certain day/track condition or to a driver's condition on that day
As for "butt" measurement for delta of 20hp out of 560hp (3.57%), it never worked for me.

This being said, I do not doubt that 991.2 is more powerful, but it is all about how much of a difference one can FEEL truly. esp. on streets. 560 hp is plenty and if not enough, it can be easily increased by multiple tuning options.
So it is sure a personal choice of what is a priority and how to spend the delta $$.

I'm actually expecting to wire funds tomorrow for the .1 and hopefully will have it delivered by the weekend.

For the small incremental gains of the .2, I'd rather take a nice vacation to the mediterranean

You will NOT be disappointed.

I have a plain jane .1 TT but now with some upgrades and it really moves out (like a scalded cat). i think its a great all arounder. The .2 is better. But i made the same decision as you. I really didnt want to flush $40-$50K down for a nominal difference. I have another car for the hair on fire thrills. The TT is a great, very sporty GT and very DD'able. Very happy with it.

Good decision. Both are phenomenal cars and the 35k in savings is similar to what I saved recently when I purchased my 991.1 Exclusive TT.

Enjoy and let us know how you like the car. Photos would be great as well!

I first have to say that I’ve never driven a 991.2 TTS. I have watched many of the reviews on YouTube and read all of the reviews available online that I could find. It’s seems to me that the performance of the two were very close. Going around the track obviously the performance is really based on the skill of the driver in my opinion. Additionally for me personally, I have a cabriolet which would not perform as strongly as a coup in theory. MotorWeek did a review on the 991.2 TTS Cabriolet. I noticed that the 0 to 60 time and the quarter-mile time we’re about the same that I was able to get on a road near my house with no prep and a full tank of gas. I used a dragy for the data. Given the possibility of differences between cars, my opinion is that they are still very close in performance. That said, I do not believe the 991.2 is worth 35k more. I hope to one day get a 992 TTS. So in my mind the money I save today can be used for that in the future. I do like the 3-D tail lights on the 991.2. However, I prefer the front of the 991.1TTS. I like how it seems a little bit more curved and I also like the turn signals better On the older car.

Hey all im looking at purchasing a turbo s and i ran into this listing here: https://www.exclusiveautowholesale.n...6/Details.aspx

Unfortunately when i contacted them they have no idea what brands the exhaust and upgrade turbos are... However the exhaust does sound pretty nice in my opinion and i'm very picky about an exhaust note which is why im also considering a gt3 or gt3 rs. Thing is i drive in the city a lot and i want awd and more power and you cant really extract much more power out of a gt3/gt3 rs. My question to you all is what kind of hp gains do you think this car would be looking at with the exhaust/upgraded turbos/cobb tune over stock? Also do you all think this car is worth the price asked for? Only thing i notice missing in the options is a front axle lift but everything else looks fine to me. My goals for power in a turbo would be about 650-750hp roughly btw. Any input or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! (Not trying to thread jack but figured it'd fit in with the discussion going on here)

Good comments. Can I help visualize how much 7mph is on a long straight at the track? Imagine if one person is standing still, and you jog away from them at 7mph for 20 seconds. That's how much gap that is on a long straight. Also, I have about 2000 laps at VIR in a 991.1 and about 3000 laps in a 991.2, so I'm pretty solid on the track performance delta.

The car looks nice and seems to check all the boxes you'd want. Exhaust is easily changed if it's not to your liking. City driving is not friendly for a GT car, no matter how great the motor sings at 7000-9000 rpm. Only concern is 4 prior owners who each owned it a short time. Price is ok, but I'd definitely drive it or get a ppi first.

These cars are amazingly tough (but not immune to abuse.) There is no warranty on that car and it has clearly been tweaked with the Cobb and driven hard with the other mods. Just be sure to get a thorough PPI before putting your money to work on it.

The options you also might want are PDLS and Auto Dimming mirrors. PDLS is mandatory for me... Also investigate if you really want center-locks. I've had them and they are a pain in the A$$!

Can't argue too much with the price and that awesome color combination, the red interior simply pops! Hope it exceeds your expectations and checks out. These are great cars!

Car has lots of mods. Have you seen it it person? Appears to have aftermarket springs as well as everything else mentioned in the ad. I can’t tell if it has ppf applied. Only thing it is missing is any type of warranty.
