Just got back from a nice winter drive. No snow so far this year. And the roads were clear and the weather sunny. It was fun to get the car out and stretch her legs. I don't know how much longer we will go without any snow, but for now
it felt good to get the car out again. In addition to the drive I reset my Porsche Connect which had expired as my car sat in the garage. Other projects that I have on schedule this winter are the Stage II Europipe Exhaust. Stef is almost finished building mine.

And of course I will be ordering new Michelins PS 4S in the spring and getting rid of the noisy P Zero's. Hopefully the winter will go fast. My props to those who still drive in the snow.

Jay

I try to get the TTS's heart rate up on very early morning drives with empty roads. I am also in beautiful horse country with excellent paved winding roads. Great way to move up and down the gears.
Biggest obstacle on these roads are of the antlered type.

I'm in West Chester. The deer are like flies all around West Chester.
Makes you scared to death at night on the backroads or route 1 when the deer are on the move.

My son lives in West Chester off 202 and there are a ton of deer on the roads. I put a deer whistle on my wife's Macan. We will see if it works.

When I use to live in South NJ, I would open it up on the backroads each and every day.

Now living on the North Shore of Long Island, its almost impossible to let er rip..

To answer the OP's question, I have no data supporting this but anecdotal experience leads me to believe that pushing a car from time to time is better than being too gentle. I believe this is true with respect to break in. I did the expedited break in on my GT3 (per AP) with gradually increasing the revs until hitting redline around 1,200 miles and shes been running like a champ. This is in contrast to a more gradual break in I did on a .2 GTS over 2,500 miles.

I believe these cars are meant to be pushed and perform better when done so.

I also think exercising them is mostly good for us drivers that need that rush as much or more than the car does. I know I do.

Ha. I agree. it is fun. I know many of the police in my town so I kinda feel ok around here but I am concerned when I go out of the area.
