Default Turbo as daily driver

Hey Everyone,

Till recently i owned Carrera 991.2 and i used to drive it as my main daily. Lately i've got 991.1 TT and wanted to get your opinion on driving it as my main daily. The thing is that i'm driving 6 miles a day and wondered if it will damage the car and i rather drive it on weekends. Personally i believe that 911's designed to be driven.

Whats you take on that ?

Thanks in advance.

-Udi

I would not worry about driving it...its the best daily driver I have ever owned.

The great thing about this car is that it does most everything well, including use as a daily. I daily drive mine and use it on weekends and some light track as well.

Six miles is a rather short ride, IMO. I would go out of my way to make sure the car gets warmed up and then worked a bit. I believe performance cars need to be run hot and heavy regularly for a number of reasons. Given the short drives, I would change oil more frequently.

Yup, daily drive my tts and I cannot think of a better daily. I’m pretty much committed to driving turbo as a daily here on out. It will spoil you.

Nice thread. I am hopefully getting into a 991.1 TT at some point soon. I will drive it all year round in NH.

My daily commute to work is around 25-27 minutes but some how I manage to do it in an hour or so in my TTS and I can't understand why.
