Trading the 2014 Turbo S for the 2014 R8Plus?
Hi,
I'm thinking of doing a 1 for 1 trade of my Turbo S for the 2014 R8 Plus similar specs and mileage. I test drove a regular 2014 R8 a while back and it is an exciting car to drive compares to the Turbo S even though it's slower in every aspect. I want to know what you're though on it.
What are the Pros and Cons of the R8 compares to the TTS?
I have a ByDesign Stage 2 on my Turbo S right now and if I keep the car I will move forward with Stage 3 or 4.
If I get the R8, well, I may do an ECU tune. Thanks for your feedbacks.

R8 is a lot more eye-catching, that is for sure. Are you looking a gated manual spec? I don't remember what year they discontinued that tranny. Good luck!

The R8 (in all variants) is a really nice sounding, comfortable, reliable car. The only thing an Audi R8 does faster than a TTS, however, is depreciate. I'm an Audi guy and chose the TTS over the R8 because it is a sleeper supercar that is a more comfortable daily driver. The V8 sound is way nicer than that on a modded TTS.
If you feel you want a change, it's a nice trade though.

The guy who owned my car before me traded it in on a R8 v10 plus spyder and I heard through the grapevine he misses the Porsche as it is not a throwable and can not dive in and out of lanes as easily. The car is a looker and does sound great though.

also, I should add that he traded it for a brand new 2018 model not the older model.

I had a 2014 R8 V10 Convertible for a day a couple years back. The s-tronic transmission is not that great (not dual clutch) - i think it got updated in 2016. The V10 engine is great and sounds much better than a TT. I found it to be heavy and not very tossable. Gets a lot of attention - its pretty. Nice for a few days but Id get tired of it after a while. And then i'd be back in my TT.
