2014 TTS PDK stalling when stopped
Hi all, I have a CPO 2014 911 Turbo S, PDK with 17,000 miles. Picked it up last week in DC, drove it half way back to NYC before it decided to keep stalling when I came to a complete stop. Had it towed to Porsche in NYC, where they replaced the battery (paid $800 for this) and said it was fixed. Today, I drove the car for several hours without any issues until I got back into NYC traffic and it began stalling each and every-time I stopped (the auto shutoff is not enabled).
If I keep the revs up pressing the accelerator with right foot heal, it won't stall. Driving though NYC traffic like this is very unsafe, I'll be calling Porsche Manhattan in the morning to address. Thoughts on what it could be?

I just found this after a quick google search. Both times, the issue occurred within 30 minutes of filling up the gas.
A faulty purge valve caused my 98 900SE turbo to stall or bog down at stops. Took numerous mechanics and many check engine lights to track down this cause. It is closely related to the charcoal canister mentioned in a previous tip. It now idles flawlessly without any anomalies.
JEFF COOK CONTRIBUTION: Wow......this really saved my sanity. My 1998 900SE turbo was stalling about 30s to 1min after coming to a stop. When accelerating and driving there was no problem. I took it to three mechanics and they could find nothing wrong with it. One of them was even a self-proclaimed "Saab only" mechanic. I realized the problem was worse right after filling up the gas tank--and apparently this is consistent with EVAP purge valve issues. I
popped in the $50 part the next day, and the idle is now flawless.

Burning Brakes
When it stalls in traffic, does it require a restart or does it start when you remove your foot from the brake and to the gas pedal?
If it starts up without requiring a restart the automatic off at traffic lights may be "ON".
It is somewhat counter intuitive that the red light on that Auto Shutoff control indicates the Auto shutoff is "OFF" rather than "ON".

It requires a complete restart (key OFF > shift to P > key ON > shift to Drive)
Auto OFF is disabled.
I dropped the vehicle to my dealer this morning and it occurred in front of them. I will report back once they dig deeper.

I abhor service shops that throw expensive & overpriced parts at a problem without much diagnosis and without fixing the problem...
Like $800 for an unneeded battery that would be $200 at a battery shop.

Happened to my TT about two years ago. Mine was intermittent so I recorded it on my phone to show the tech. The first thing they did was reload the engine software. Tested it for a couple of days with no issue. Hasn’t done it since (knock on wood). Good luck.

Good luck with that one. Porsche Manhattan doesn't have a stellar service record.
