Yep, that could/would cause the issue. Annoying for sure, but simple fix. Hopefully it gets corrected this time.

I had exactly the same issue. The car needed a new throttlebody and oil separator.

$800 battery is classic Porsche! I was at the track and my Braille lithium battery discharged, so I went to an auto parts store and bought a new "high end" battery for $190. I wonder if part of that $800 wasn't diagnosis charges. Either way, Porsche dealers generally screw us!

Crank sensor installed on Friday. No further issues (yet).

I have a 2014 porsche 911 turbo s like the OP

Car will die at idle. Completely random just shuts off. Requires key turned off and back on to restart.

Im leaning towards replacing my crankshaft position sensor after reading this.

P911T: How many labor hours does your sheet show it requires to replace that sensor?

My dealer replaced the crank sensor and the issue never returned. Sorry I don't have the paperwork on me. It was covered under warranty.
