Trickle charger ?

Do any of the lighter/power outlets stay live after the car times out for charging purposes ?

I've tried the passenger footwell and console but they both go dead...maybe the lighter plug ?..(my car is not home presently for me to try the lighter plug)

I think they stay on for 5 min after the car is off. So you don't drain the battery.

Cig Lighter works for charging..... my maintainer periodically comes on (screen shows
digitally the % of the battery level) when fully charged goes to showing 100% - only takes a few mins.

Part of it has to do with the security system's pulsating red lights on the window sills when the car is locked...they are powered by something
and draw some voltage + my I leave my iPOD plugged into the glove compartment USB.

It is recommended to lock the car to shut off whatever else is going on in the background of the car's brain.

My selling dealership gave me the Porsche trickle charge that plugs into the cig lighter when I bought the car, but I drove it all winter long, he claims that the charger allows the battery to be charged even though the lighter normally shuts down, so we will see

I've been using the footwell outlet for 13 Pcars without any issue and have stored cars as long as 6-7 months.

My trickle charger uses the cig lighter..

I can acknowledge the lighter outlet stays alive but as I see the doors must be locked...at least for my car...I have not tried the other ports with doors locked..

My 991.1 C2S cigarette lighter stayed on with my CTEK. MY 991.2 C2S turns off in a short while. I get around this by leaving the key fob outside the car and turning on the dummy key in the ignition switch (keyless entry option). This keeps the cigarette lighter hot for the CTEK.

Well, i have a Deltron Battery Tender, and even after 24 hours being plugged into the cig lighter 12v it still shows 'yellow' on the devise indicating that its sending power. BUT, I'm surprised that it has not showed 'green' to indicate that it is fully charged. Dont make me buy the Porsche brand!! HELP?

I can confirm all ports stay active when doors are locked...

991's use AGM batteries which require a higher charge and float voltage. Does your charger have an AGM setting? On the CTEK we use the Winter setting (Snowflake button).
