991.2 Sport Plus Button?

Newbie question. 991.1TTS I have seen have Sport and Sport + buttons in the center console. Seems to be missing from all of the 991.2TTS I have seen. How is Sport or Sport+ engaged in the 991.2s?

Thx,
Dennis

Using the rotary knob on the steering wheel.

Porsche felt that we didn't have enough blank buttons on the center console so they moved them to the rotary switch as shown above.

@07CarreraS - funny. I had the same thought. My wife's Cayman GTS has darned near every center console button functioning (and she likes using ALL of them)... I'm looking at CPO 991 TTS's now... so I couldn't go get a TTS with fewer buttons than my wife's car! How could I explain it to... our boys? Sheesh. :roflmao:

I personally like that they added the S+ knob on the steering wheel; it’s much easier to switch to S or S+, or to use the sport response button in case of need, like for example overtaking on a mountain road, while keeping the eyes on the road.

Very convenient rotary dial...

I have a PIWIS 3 and was curious how to activate or install the sport+ on a 991.2 that has PDK but not S or clock options

hmmmmm. interesting.

does the sport + make the car faster? or just shift points, etc. more specifically, does the S+ give us more than 580 hp? or is the Sport mode 560, then S+ 580?
please dont pick on the HP numbers, just as an example.

Adds engine response, shift quickness and noise.

Well according to the boost gauge, Sport + allows it to reach 19psi.. In normal mode the boost gauge doesn't reach 19psi and it doesn't turn orange like it does in Sport or Sport +. It's been proven that those numbers do not display honest figures (oil temps and coolant temps default to a fixed digit regardless of actual temperature). However, if it's true then the car does in fact make more HP, if not HP it makes more torque.

The sport response button in the center is 20 seconds of Sport + mode.. But they call the sport response button an "overboost" mode for more TQ.. The button does have a function but seems to be more of a marketing angle than anything.

There's a chart in the owners manual detailing the differences between the 3 modes. IIIRC, more than throttle/response/shift, also active suspension changes. I started to get up to take a pic of the page to post, but my car is at dealer, lol

I'm possibly about to trade up to a 2018 Turbo and was wondering the same thing, then saw they did the Ferrari thing and put it on the wheel, which really is more convenient. Apparently Sport Chrono was an Option on the 991.1 Turbo/S models, but standard on .2 models, is what I was told, right or wrong.

The new GT3 RS has like what, 4-5 of those things on the wheel?? Crazy!

Those knobs will be for great Instagram posts. Possibly with someone's hand in the photo holding the wheel to show their watch.

Ain't nobody fiddling with those knobs on the fly.
