Default Brake Upgrade? PFC Brakes Data?

Dear Rennlisters, Does anyone have any information on the effectiveness of "upgraded" brakes. I just saw an advertisement for PFC brakes. A lot of fancy adjectives, but no data on effectiveness vs. stock Porsche brakes. What are your experiences? Thanks, Gene

I have not tried PFC, but after a year of track use, I think the overall braking of the car with aftermarket rotors and track pads is at least as good as the PCCB, but the front rotors won't cost $13k to replace when you ruin them (like I have) and you can run a more aggressive pad compound. For track, replace the PCCB rotors and pads. For street, there is nothing better than OEM for daily use.

Agreed 110% with above. I’ve tracked my 991 Turbo for 1.5 years and steel upgraded Brembo Type 5 rotors and Pagid pads have worked great!

Randy, Who's aftermarket rotors and pads are you using at the track? Do you switch back to OEM equipment for street use?
Thanks, Gene

Those are Girodisc rotors, stock calipers, Ferrodo DS1.11 pads. I run them full time. Get the occasional squeal, but they are not as bad once they are bedded. After track use, I also hose out the dust and that helps, too.

Here's my build: https://rennlist.com/forums/991-turb...track-car.html
