Trading in my '14 TTS for a Ford Raptor
Well... time for the TTS to go. I will surely miss it! 15k miles, full Bydesign goodies (Kline Inconel headers/exhaust, Cobb tuning - both PDK and engine), H&R springs and never, ever one problem. As reliable as a wood burning stove.
I was very lucky to get a late allocation for a 991.2 GT3 so have that coming in Dec (maybe January with the delays Porsche has had)... so going to pre-trade now. I'll be posting all my Kline and Cobb goodies on the sales forum soon. While I wait for GT3, I'm going to go American and pick up a barely used '17 Raptor. Never had a pick up truck before, am looking forward to a little utility TBH. Had it over the weekend (see pic below with my TTS)... and am very impressed. Anyone here have a raptor in the garage as well? If so, thoughts? Apologies.... know this isn't exactly a TTS post per se. https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/rennlis...dee7f6e23d.jpg |
I have an 18. Had it almost a year now. 10k miles. Absolutely, positively love it. One of my favorite vehicles I've owned. It is a big, huge, sloppy truck...but it's so much fun and the Baja suspension is a riot. I reflashed the ECU in mine and it gained 100 whp and 120 wtq. There are a lot of cool little touches, including the magnesium paddles. It is the Turbo S of the truck world. Enjoy it!

I've met a few Porsche guys recently who seem to go for the raptor when they need a truck. This is basically the truck for "car guys/gals." |
I have a Turbo S and a Raptor as well. Its a hard vehicle to beat as a daily driver, especially with some upgrades!!

Who can tune the Raptor? The lack of power is what's holding me to get one. |

I'm looking to buy a new Raptor as well. Test drove it and felt it was underpowered. I have a 958 Cayenne Turbo which is mostly used for towing as its DD duties were replaced by a RS7.
Who can tune the Raptor? The lack of power is what's holding me to get one. Either 5star or MPT. These trucks with a 93 octane tune and down pipes roll out. There is definitely not a lack in power with some tuning. It feels just as fast as a lot of my programmed diesels. |

Both cars/trucks get the same amount of attention and no complaints at all. Regarding power, did you ever put it in sport mode? My current raptor has more power than previous v8 raptor and trd supercharged tundra. |
I guess I’m the oddball Turbo S owner who bought a GMC Denali. I bought a new 2018 Denali 1500 crew cab in May. I love it. I do think the Raptors are really cool though. I see lots of them up in the mountains. |
Guess I'm an oddball too, then. I have a Duramax 6.6L ZL1 LTZ truck. Yanks my 8000lb toy hauler (full of race motorcycles & weekend requirements) around almost like it isn't there.

Nice truck, but that driveway...

If you've never had a chance to drive a Mercedes GLS63 AMG, it's just tons of fun, too. Pulls like there is nothing behind it, challenges pony cars at a light, and is imminently comfy. If I were looking for a truck, I'd look at a Raptor. I have Silverado and Tundra pickups, too, but they don't tow like the Mercedes.

Love my '17 Raptor and sold my 991.1 TTS to buy a '17 Raptor and a GT350R (both in avalanche grey). I miss the TTS sometimes (and just Porsche overall) but I will hopefully get back to one of those. But agree with others - the Raptor has been a delight - I rarely keep anything a year and the Raptor is getting close. It is so darn useful!
