Reasonable price to install springs?

Reasonable price to install springs?
After reading this forum, I purchased a set of Tech Art lowering springs, however, I was surprised at the install quote which including alignment is nearly $1400. Am hoping this board can be a litmus for whether that is in the ball park, high or low?

I am located in Chicago and had the TechArt springs installed as well. I think I paid a little more than $1,400 from an indy shop. Porsche dealer quoted me $3,500-$4,000! BTW, great mod! I love the way the car looks and rides with the TechArt's. Good luck.

I would make an educated guess of 10-12 hours of labor. With shop rates at $100-$150, $1200 to $1400 is not ridiculous.

I was just quoted $2300 for techart spring parts and labor with alignment on 991 TTS. Still debating. Stock I have noticed the front is high enough that it misses curbs when parking. Can anyone comment on whether the springs bring the front down to curb eating height?

Haven’t had any issues but I’m extremely careful when exiting driveways and don’t go anywhere far enough to hit parking concrete things.

Porsche premium labor prices - I believe it took less than 4 hours for me to do the job in my driveway. Followed up with my favorite alignment shop for ~$100 and done. Of course I have done coilover/lowering springs before on many other cars, but there is nothing unique or especially difficult about this job.

We charge $500 for in the install plus the alignment. Man if I could get $1000 that would be great, but the job only takes about an hour a corner if the shop has any clue what they are doing.

I had a another shop take a look and they gave a fairly similar estimate, almost the same hours.
Technical talent availability varies by region, and if they didn’t know better it’s safe to follow the steps. Quite expensive in this case though.

Darn, I'm having the same debate . . . I like the lowered ride height look, but I am also enjoying "never" scraping, I also tend to back into parking spots, so curbs tend not to be a problem . . . I am also considering TechArt since I think it's the smallest change from stock - I also don't want to mess with PDCC . . . Decisions, decisions . . . KH
