Default New GT2 RS Engine

Is the new engine in the GT2 a hot Rodded Turbo, semi drysump, bucket follower engine or some variation of the Motorsport drysump engine. Please no guessing, looking for an authoritative answer. Sketchy info in press releases, not much interest in nuts and bolts. Gordon

It still lost the race to 0-62 against a tts, 2.5 to 2.6, it is however faster in the 1/4 10.3 to 10.6

This is because it’s RWD and the additional downforce

I'm a 46 yr Porsche mechanic and need to know. I use to be able to get Service Information, my collection goes back to 68 when it started, but it's getting harder as print versions have stoped and it's like they don't want you to know. Not good enough for me. Gordon

We've been trying to get GT2 RS VTG turbo info without much joy. Inducer / exducer size. They're still not on the system last time I checked

Porsche NA presented tech info at this years Porsche Parade.
The GT2RS has the same engine platform as the Turbo S with the list of main differences listed. I tried to take notes but it was very distracting to have the GT2RS sitting right next to me.

Different pistons, 9:1 compression vs 9.5:1 in turbo s

Much bigger turbos (I didn’t get to write down the sizes) 1.55 bar vs 1.25 in turbo s

Much improved air intake filter shape.

Water vapor system for the Intercoolers = 20% increases efficiency by dresses of 21 C

Much stiffer suspension

And much grippier new Cup2 N2 tires...I'm using the fronts now on my TTS. The article in Panorama went through all of the differences.

I found it very interesting that the headers are cast instead of the individual welded tubes like the aftermarket ones that are supposed to be better.
