Rear fenders below intake taking a beating
 

I had most of the car covered with PPF and then had the entire car ceramic coated. Very happy with the result but the rear fenders below the air intakes are starting to get visible rash just after 2 months and 2K miles :(. I now wish I double-layered the film there or something like that (installer told me it was not necessary but it's not looking that good now). What do you folk do with that area?

Have the cars 100% plastic covered, in the high stone chip areas you may need to have that plastic replaced every year or two if you want it to look perfect, I am at hundreds of cars shows through out the year, and know many that have to do this, not want you want to hear, in states near the coast you have sand blasting paint away every time you drive.

Just ordered a set of CF...I'm on the fence regarding CF but if they fit and adhere well I may order a set of flat black too...too bad color matching are not available...we'll see just how resilient these are...I recently removed the factory pads and replaced with 3m which looked terrible after just one season so I just had the sides re-wrapped with Expel and hopefully these magnetic pads will protect the protection :)

I thought you were talking behind the rear wheels under the rear fender where the vents are. If so I had the PPF put under those fender areas too and it has helped.

What is really needed is a proper front wheel "mud flap" as such:

I'll try them in gloss black. Not sure about the looks, but hope it works visually.

I was originally thinking gloss and hesitant, but CF looks good. They're all durable. Plus when you get impacts they don't show as much due to the CF pattern, but on gloss it would be more visible.

Sound reasoning there. When mine get too beaten up I will think about CF replacements.
