Angry Paint Defect

2015 Porsche Turbo S, slightly over 12,000 miles. I have noticed that on the body of the car, above the rear driver's tire, are three black "dots" approx 1/16 - 1/8 of an inch around. All within two inches of each other. At first I thought it was road tar, tree sap, etc. However, it refused to wipe off with tar remover, etc. Now, by looking at it with a magnifying lens I realize it is a paint defect. On one of the spots I softly scrapped away some of the spot with a small knife tip, and it is now obvious the spot is deteriorated paint.

Is this covered by warranty? Does this indicate other problems with the paint are soon to raise their ugly heads? Etc?

In this case, a picture is worth a thousand words.

I hope I uploaded the picture properly, I've never uploaded a pic before. I added the penny to allow you to get a feel for the size. Note the the lower "dot" is where I scrapped away the material I thought was tar. The upper "dot" is untouched. (The third "dot" in out of the picture and even smaller.) I guess I was wrong when I said "all within two inches of each other."

Weird....almost like someone mark it with a sharpie.

I agree. I actually hope it is from an external source. That way a dot of touch up paint should do the trick. However, my concern is that it could be from under the paint somehow.

This isn't that bad. You can easily have a good tech by Wet Sanding and paint correction. It would blend in to the point where only you would know where it was.

And yes I think your dealer should be able to help you out here. Have all other areas checked thoroughly when you have it at the dealership. Good Luck. Again this isn't that bad.

That's not a paint defect. You can see that the paint under the black marks is still silver. It's something that got on the paint, and perhaps caused it to bubble, but try to keep the knife away from it and have somebody look at it.

If it is on the surface clay will remove it without any damage, just use enough lube and you will be fine

Why? Bizarre method on your part. Go see a high quality detailer in your area. Stay away from the dealership, they'll just make it worse.

Most likely bird excrement, probably dark berry trees in your area.

Wash
Clay
Wash
Polish

Sealant.

*possibly some touch-up paint, and more polishing
