Porsche Vehicle Service Protection (Extended Warranty)
Has anyone had experience with Porsche Vehicle service protection (warranty)? The factory warranty on my TTS expires in 30 days and you can only add VSP while the factory warranty is still active. Car has CPO coverage till 6/2020 but I plan to keep the car longer than that, if not then I can pass the warranty to the next owner. Planning to add 3 more years on top of CPO.
Thanks in advance

Yes, confirmed with the dealer.
From Porsche site -
"
NOTE: Available on new, pre-owned, and Certified Pre-Owned Porsche vehicles at the time of vehicle purchase or lease. Also available in the service lane for vehicles still covered under the manufacturer’s warranty.

I have conflicting information....
So I called my local Porsche dealer today. They explained that Porsche does not have an extended warranty. They offer the program you are referring to through Safeguard company. So it's a 3rd party, not Porsche.
They advised not to purchase it during the CPO period as it would be would be double coverage, but rather wait until the CPO warranty is about to expire. Apparently it can be purchased any time.

Interesting, I was told it can be only purchased while the car is under factory warranty (as an add on). The dealer can sell it when you buy the car from them even after the factory warranty has expired. I did not know it was not Porsche warranty but a third party backed. I guess I will save the 5k and trade the car before CPO expires. Thank you for your help.

There is a lot of discussion on CPO from a dealer, if you are purchasing a used 911 and the seller states it is CPO till a certain date but does not have paperwork to show, how do you know, how can you confirm if it is or is not CPO?

Yes the CPOs have some fancy paperwork and booklets etc. Easy way to check is have dealer look up the VIN, it will state status.
