It's funny [peculiar], I'm normally not a big fan and not a user of sunroofs in cars. The glass roof in the .1TT I have is proving the exception though...we had our first 70F+ day in the PNW last week and without thinking about it I opened up the roof and dropped the door windows. It kind of feels like a Targa to me in that mode and why wouldn't you want that on a nice day as well as being able to close it and more or less forget about it when the weather isn't so fine?? So much better than the flimsy convertible roof (uh oh: the cab mafia are coming to get me I bet!! ) option for our less clement months. Thinking about the why of it, AviBen's comments above really resonated for me: this roof is different than others I've had before...in a good way.

Use it to park
The only time I use the sunroof is when I park in the sun for a bit of time. I lift the back up to allow some circulation if I ever have to leave it in the sun. Otherwise, I never use it and if I didn't have it I wouldn't be bummed at all. If you want open cockpit, buy a cab.

I prefer sunroof delete cars but begrudgingly spec glass sunroofs on about 40% of our 911's due to customer demand. Where our store is located, we get 100F routinely in summer and the less UV rays the better

I have no sun roof in my car and am very happy. My 997 had a sun roof and it was never used. Thankful for the clean lines and no extra weight of a sun roof in my new car. Who has there sun roof open at over 150 mph?

Hi all,
I recently started an instagram page @sunroofdelete and my goal is to capture sunroof delete p-cars via my recently acquired drone. Check it out, send pictures of sunroof delete porsches and if you are in LA and have a sunroof delete porsche let me know if you would like to go out and take pictures!

CJ, I must admit, you seem to be doing it right! (not talking about your gift with the baseball, your cars and dealerships, or the beautiful Brazilian bride...just referring to your distaste for sunroofs, which I share with you.)

I specced a sunroof, but don't use it much. I much prefer the smaller 997 and earlier sunroofs that retracted into the roofline. IMHO, the 991 style panel that hangs up and over the roof looks like you stopped off at Home Depot on your way home and picked up a sheet of plywood and strapped it to your roof!

Guess it depends on the market, but for a 911 turbo...it will most definitely affect resale by a couple K. Now, does that matter at the end of the day? Probably not...but at least in the Northeast, that's the case. We are a VERY small percentage of TTS owners, and most want as much lux as they can get.
