It looks like they dremeled the molding so that the display sits flush inside it. Why don't you ask Nick from Musicar to make you an insert for your little console storage bin and have both the display and the controls embedded inside the insert.

I looked in my car yesterday, and that spot is very difficult to see.

My my installer has done excellent custom work for me in the past, so I plan to talk to him about it and try a few potential locations before he fabricates a custom mount. I’m worried that the MAX 360Ci display will be too big for the storage bin, but we’ll look at that as an option.

I would recommend you get in touch with Nic. They've done installs on cabs before. They should be able to fabricate a shroud for the MaxCi display like this one.

Dropped the car off today for installation. I'll post pics when it's complete.

After a discussion with my installer, it looks like we are going to flush mount the controls in the center console tray for easy access. The display will be mounted in a custom pod/shroud on the dash, up close to the windshield on the left side in the corner where the a-pillar meets the dash. I chose this location because it offered the best combination visibility from the driver's seat (display won't be too far off of my line of sight when driving), ability to reduce glare on the display, and stealth. Glare on the display is an issue in the cabriolet when the top is down, particularly for displays that are mounted up high by the mirror. Hopefully this location will cut down on the glare.

Installation complete. I'm very pleased. My installer built a custom pod for the dashboard to mount the display. I think it's ideal for a cabriolet and it features a small visor to keep glare off the screen. He also mounted a warning LED in the center dash vents. It's the green light in the second picture. Finally, he flush mounted the controls in the storage tray in the center console.

I had my installer place the touch pad of the Escort 360 Max CI to the left of the steering wheel and the display to right just above the front vent. The light indicator was carefully placed within the dash in a very visible place and it's worked out well. I can easily see the alerts
and arrows and keep my eyes on the road.

Not long after my installation, the mirror display for the Escort MAX 360 Ci became available for auto-dimming mirrors.

I had it installed last week, and I really like it. It's even more stealthy than the custom display that I had before!

So far, I've been really impressed with the Escort system. It works very well and has very few false alerts.

Default Take a look at this

My installer mounts the display and controls on the mirror using a custom printed frame that fits around it and doesn't impact auto-dimming. This is a picture of his standard unit. I wanted the controls close at hand, so I had him do one for my 991.2 TT Cab with just the display centered under the mirror and the controls mounted in the smokers cubby. Works great. PM me if you want me to put you in touch with him. He's in NY but maybe he'll be willing to send you the parts.
