I was thinking of including the option on my new GT Silver TTS, but am concerned about stone chips damaging the painted side skirts and rear apron. Does anyone have experience of whether this is a problem or not. Thanks for any help.

My entire car is black (including aero kit), I’ve had no issues.

Thanks for the confirmation, I've included it at the moment but can't quite decide whether the extra gloss black ascents will look good. On my current car, also GT Silver, I just had the wing mirror lower sections and the side intakes painted gloss black.

I think the aero kit looks great when contrasting to the car. I've seen pics of them on white, red and silver 911's on this forum - love them all. I think you'll be very pleased.

Looks great, I find gloss black hard to keep swirl free. I tend to film those pieces to protect the finish.

My current car has full Xpel coverage, but I wasn't sure if the lower side skirts and rear apron could be done due to the shape.
I'm not having the full aero, I'm looking at option EXX which includes:
Rear side air intakes painted in black (high-gloss)
Rear apron painted in black (high-gloss)
Standard side skirts painted in black (high-gloss)
Door handles painted in black (high-gloss)
SportDesign exterior mirror lower trims painted in black (high-gloss)
Central air intake on engine lid painted in black (high-gloss).
This seems to be a fairly new new option in the uk, it became available last month.
I've seen cars with the Side skirts and rear apron painted in body colour but not in contrasting black high gloss.

I have the aero kit in gloss black and have it covered in Xpel. Noticed a few tiny nicks on the film already but you have to be very very close to the nicks to really notice. Car has about 2.7K miles on it currently.

I did the aero package in high gloss, along with the side scoops etc., and had all those parts (and the whole car) done in 3M PPF. It can be done -- just depends on the installer. Look for someone able/willing to spend the time to custom cut the film and fit the pieces, rather than using a pre-cut kit...

i ordered the gloss black exterior paint package on my lava orange turbo...

Im not too concerned with any chips - any chips would be easy to touch up and the look of the gloss black vs. the ugly textured black make it worth the potential damage.

Thanks, nice car. It’s close, but still not exactly it. From what I understand, the front air intakes, including the adjustable slats, would be painted in high gloss black.

It really depends on what your roads are like and what kind of driving you do... For the kind of driving we do, stone chips will definitely happen with painted skirts, less so with a painted rear apron.

I added the GT3 RS molded-in-matte-black side skirts around the same time my buddy added the same to his car, but he had his painted gloss black to match his car. He already had other gloss black accents, so he went with these gloss as well.

Grey is OE molded in color RS side skirts, Blue car painted gloss black side skirts.
