What "extras" are you guys buying from Dealership??
Hello!
My Turbo should Arrive within Weeks and I'm heading to dealership to get things wrapped up.
I know they are going to offer a whole bunch of extras - Tint, Paint protection, Tire / Rim insurance, Extended Warranty all that Stuff.
I am planning on keeping this car for as long as the warrant is Valid and not much more that that.
I will have the Windows tinted at the dealership because my car is Carmine Red with tons of Black accents and I want everything to match.
I do not really like the Film to be honest - I own a fairly high end body shop and if something happens to bumper I can rip it off and paint it without issue.
What should I know going into the dealership?

Anything they offer has a huge profit, so I avoid any extras. I even have wrap done outside of the dealer at a substantial savings - not that you need it. If you are going to get rid of the car at the end of the warranty then just roll with the tint and put the rest of the money you might spend on rim insurance aside, just in case. The dealer is already making 12% on your car before discounts to MSRP, so don't let them have a penny more than needed.

To each his own on this but I agree with Randy. I do my PPF wrap outside of the dealer, I fund my own tire and wheel insurance, I tint outside with a reputable shop, don't do the prepaid maintenance etc... Again its up to each person but I don't like to pay for extras with the dealer anything I want done I would prefer to find the shop of my choosing. Good luck on the car.

I had my dealer apply a partial car film to my car before I took delivery. Did the front end to the door, the mirrors, and probably another spot or two. They got a cut but the price to me was what most find quoted from a good shop. They did a great job with it and I am happy. They gave me clear turn signals and I forget if I purchased or they gave me a set of rubber/winter floor mats. I purchased a set of Michelin Alpins and had the car delivered on them since I took delivery in the middle of winter. Again they weren’t trying to make a big profit, it was competitive with tire rack prices and if I remember right availability was an issue at the time.
They made money but they didn’t seem to be trying to make accessory sales a profit center - that’s what the cars are for! The convenience and ease was worth their minor profit to me, and I suspect my SA would just as soon sell no accessories since they can cause trouble if the subcontractor makes a mistake. They seemed to just want to go to work, move nice cars, and see customers drive them away happy.

Hahaha thanks for the compliment! I never planned to settle here but after 10+ years I’ve started to realize it’s really a nice place to be and to have a family.

I try to never let the dealership touch the car unless warranty related, you can get MUCH better deals dealing with high end shops directly, this will save you some of the markup put on by the dealerships, never was one for wheel or tire insurance, but to each his own, I do get extended warranties for resale being I only keep cars a year or two, makes them easy to sell privately, or at least it has worked for me. Do some searches on the internet because there are a lot of Porsche dealerships giving much better prices than my local dealership

I had my dealership paint my wheels Glossy Black, install RS Center Caps, Escort 360 Max, Rennline pedal set, and do the Ceramic Pro. They gave my a little discount on the items and so it was nice to bring my car home with all of the extras added on.
