Question Running 21's & lowered in London or the UK?

Hi,

I've finally been allocated a build slot for my TTS Cab with a delivery date of 1st March.

I want to fit some 21" Brixtons but the road surface quality in London is shocking with speed humps and I'm concerned it's going to ruin the ride.

So I have a couple questions that I'm hoping someone can share there experience with me:

1: Are any of you guys running 21's and lowered in London or any urban city in the uk?, if so, how is it?
2: Would the car sit high with the 21's if I left the suspension stock?

The car is a massive investment for me and I don't want to spoil the ride...

I'm running a 2017 GTS Targa and it's fine but I wouldn't want it 'much' stiffer when in town.

Thanks in adavance for any help

Mart

Any chance of getting you to trade that build slot to a dealer in New Jersey?
Can't help with the wheels question. Sorry.

21's plus lowering will lead to a slightly greater firm ride. I would say 10-15% more stiffness. I've lowered my last 2 turbo's and I live in NJ and frequent NYC.

Going to 21" wheels will not be a problem, but if you lower it then you will probably not love the ride quality. It's fine for me, but if you have a concern then you will notice there is quite a difference, even with Techart.

Thanks Randy, do you think the car will look Detramentally jacked up with 21's if on standard suspension or will it still look 'right'? Thanks mate

21" wheels and tires, properly fitted, won't change anything - as they should maintain the same overall diameter as the OEM wheels/ tires. They will look more aggressive and will have a firmer ride due to the lower side profiles. I am lowered (27 mm on Techarts) on 20" with wider wheels, and same overall diameters as stock, and I rub / bang the front of the chassis at least once / ride. Not a great feeling.

I don't. There are plenty of pictures of 21" rim cars with no lowering, and I think they look fine. Check out wheelsboutique for pictures. Also, it may be possible that ROW or EU cars have a lower ride height than US cars, too.

What rear size tires/wheels are you running? offset?, camber? I know what I can do up front but looking at new Hoosier R7 in 335 x 20 for rear if I can get away with it clearing intercoolers. Circumferences are smaller but width likely an issue. Not lowered. Thanks
