Kline 70mm
Has anyone over here with a Kline exhaust upgraded to a Kline 70mm? I like it loud but I don't want to go catless, I just wonder how much louder the 70mm version will be. I can't really hear any difference on these Youtube videos.
Any insight is appreciated. Thanks

Hey guys! Kline has the one main or standard 2.5 in system. It's very Jekyll/Hyde and loved by many. Over the years we have gotten requests for a bit more and have also begun pushing the 1000hp mark so a few more variations and set-ups came into play. With the different cat and decat options this makes for quite a nice range to choose from. I have gladly and successfully been offering the "Sambo Guarantee" to anyone interested to help with any doubt or anxiety in choosing the right system for you. We can start with a phone consult where I can go into detail and then send you plenty of videos to explore. Even have you speak with friends/clients first hand. Once we set you up I will stand behind our decision and your exhaust 100%! Whether that means a switch in tone or anything else all costs considered! So you have my full support and no anxiety.
So far as you can see by the reviews we have been able to do just great! But in-case you have that service from me. We are also running our end of year special now. So feel free to reach out anytime and I will make sure it's a great experience whether you want information 1 on 1 or are ready to enjoy it first hand!

But it's better to just contact Sam directly. The personal level of service you get from him is unmatched and no one is brave enough to offer the total satisfaction guarantee that he does. hahah

Hi Sam,
I know that you tend to specialize in cars made for the strip, but what would you do for a track focused car?
Also, at least in the post above, you don't have a signature line with any contact info. FYI.

Hi Randy,
Ahh yes sorry I just realized on the sig. 6Speed has all of it so I forgot. Interestingly I’m actually a road course guy. I had a 993 GT2 clone and then a 996 GT2 that I had a lot of fun with before the kids came. Lately with the 991, straight line stuff became a nice fun performance measurement and we ran with it LOL. Looking back I remember being one of the guys who kept arguing these are not drag cars! But man they are fast.
That being said, my install team at speed gallery our road course specialists and Dan really knows his way around suspension. He taught me a lot. And when it comes to power I actually have special programs for example that really helped keep temperatures under control and bring the power in usably and efficiently. It would be my pleasure to go over stuff with you and see how I could contribute. These cars are already just about as quick and sometimes quicker than a GT3 now which has never happened in the past. Really amazing cars!

No worries. We run a larger down-pipe or cat sections to help with flow. The 2.5 decat is on many big HP By Design Stage 4 cars working great. We do see more potential with the 70mm after 800hp but it is also a sound thing for those who like it. Most systems I sell and gents post about are a 70mm set up.

Problem is that my kline isn't a true 2.5 in system as the tubes inside the muffler are way smaller. A friend of mine told me about the rather small inner tubes of his 997 turbo kline exhaust and that it looked weird for a 2.5 in system. That got me worried so I had a buddy at work cut off one of the muffler tubes so that I could get a better look.
Eventually the perforated tubes that run all the way through the mufflers are just 52 mm. I'm happy with the better flowing cats but I just wished that the mufflers were at least as free flowing as the stock muffler. If 70 mm is better flowing than 63 mm then 52 mm is worse flowing, corect?

Well our big secret is out. We purposefully hide restrictive tube sections in our exhausts to make sure they perform less well than the competition!
LOL, joking aside, the perf reduction is there for a reason.
Firstly the dimensions are not accurate, the 63mm system actually contains 57mm perforate. This has been specifically calculated for a purpose. To fully explain it I would need to go into some Phd level compressible fluid dynamics. But you can think of it like this. Gas discharge doesn’t travel through perforate the same way it travels through solid tube. When the pressure peaks enter the perf, a proportion of the gas passes through the perforate. This effectively lowers the volume of gas in the perforate, in order to maintain optimum gas velocity, the perf section has been reduced by a calculated ratio. This is actually there to make the exhaust more efficient in terms of performance.
Hvdv85 The 63mm system is, in terms of compressible flow, is a more true 63mm system than others
The Kline 991 turbo exhaust actually has a huge number of “never seen before” innovations that make it perform and sound so great. This is the result of a lot of testing, from cfd modelling, to final dyno testing, but we like to keep those innovations under our belt as long as possible!
To answer the question of the “loudness” of the 70mm system. It is a little louder than the 63mm, and a little deeper. But the real difference is going catless.

Thanks for the explanation Felix and Christian. Gents, I would like to add to this with real world experience as a proud tuner who has modded more 991TT's than most if not all... I have run and tested these systems time and time again in logs and on the dyno. Also gone up vs others out there with full 3'' and Kline has never let us down. Out of the 140+ By Design Stage 4 991TT's out making form 700-900hp, 95% are tuning Kline. From race cars to street-stealth cars. We have a set-up for all and they are all Jekyll/Hyde. On the 997 it's the same story only more. I can tell you that on here and on 6speed there are countless threads about performance using this system and also comparisons vs others that it has proven itself. On top of that the refined sound and versatility are un-matched to those of us who experienced it. Run it with confidence and feel secure on the service and support form this product. All of my clients know i back products I trust in with a full 100% guarantee!
Below is an Inconel 70/63.5mm decat system...
