Keyless Entry?

Keyless Entry?
My keyless entry system seems to get more intermittent than ever. There are times where the doors wont respond, tried both hands, holding the key fob outside my pocket, right next to it, nothing.
Then I have to push the button on the fob to unlock and then it does. Same with the "frunk" - intermittent at best.
Changed the FOB battery, then changed it again, just to make sure the "good" battery wasn't good.
Car always starts, thank goodness. Any suggestions? Also, on my previous car, there was a slot to insert the key in case the battery dies, what can be done if the car doesn't start?
Thanks in advance for the answers.

Can't answer about the failure to unlock. I had the same problem with my past C2S. Also if the car does not recognize the key when trying to start, the MFS will tell you to turn the dummy key to the left and remove it, then insert the key from your pocket. Again, had the problem on the C2S.

Maybe two bad batteries??? Otherwise just doesn't make much sense to me as a low battery will usually cause all of what you described.
Heck my car will lock from a football field a way but sometimes if my key is in my book bag on the front seat it won't recognize the key and start the car...I have to take it out of my book bag and then it starts fine. Other times with the key in the book bag it starts fine...weird????
Good luck with figuring it out!

I get this fairly often, sometimes I'll have to grab the handle several times before it will unlock. Couple times I've given on the handle and pulled the fob out of the pocket and used the button.. I just changed the battery because I was starting to get the "key not found" or what ever it says when you try to start the car and it doesn't sense the key, even though it's in my pocket.

Evidently counterfeit CR2032 batteries are fairly common... Brand names on them, they look correct, enough voltage to kinda sorta work in many applications, but not to spec.
The ones that worked and resolved the problem were from a blister pack of Duracell CR2032's from Costco. They sell huge volume so you know they are fresh and they source direct from manufacturer.

I had the same problem yesterday. I talked with Porsche Service Manager and he said it's the battery in the key (not the dummy key), and replace the battery.
I recently had the battery replaced, but he said the battery for the key fob is a unique and therefore rarely used. Consequently, the replacement batteries for the key fob that you buy at your local battery store could have been sitting on the shelf for 2-3 years.
Try another battery; the store should be able test the battery. It may take two or more battery attempts until you get one with adequate power.

update: shopping at Costco, I saw that they had a pack of 2032's that had an expiration date of 2030.
It's been sitting around for about a year, so i thought it was worth a try, a pack of 12 for $8. Yes! the fob works much better.
Thanks for all that suggested batteries from a different batch.
For what it's worth, I also used a 2032 from the previous batch on my wifes Q50S and it worked great. Maybe our Porsche fobs are more sensitive/finicky?
