Could this be the 991.2 GT3?

I'm beginning to think it's going to be revealed in Paris rather than Geneva.

I am # 2 on the waiting list as I put the deposit a year back with my dealer who is 20th biggest Porsche dealer in US... Hence not sure when and how many allocations they will get as there 19 dealers ahead of this dealership who sell more Porsches in a year

Hmm... If a 4.0 and a manual (even if a the current engine) I think it will give a few people second thoughts about paying that much money for that small of a difference (including me--not willing to pay 300K (over MSRP) for carbon fenders and "exclusivity").
How much impact--I don't know. What I do know is that if it is 4.0 and manual--it will have a something more than "no" impact!

Since the 911R is sold out, you don't have to worry about spending "300K for exclusivity"

I agree, if the 991.2 comes out with the 4.0 engine and a MT, it will still not be a 991R, I guess the idea of the 991R was never to compete with the GT3, was to have a drivers car but not quite a track car.
I like the 991R but most probably will never get one, the flip flop market is crazy $1million people are going mad.
But I like the idea of getting a 991.2 4.0 MT at MRSP as a consolation prize! Probably not cheap consolation but at least resonable.

If this forum is any indicator, they can make the rev limiter 9001 in neutral only and it will be the best 911 ever!

Exactly, I don't understand this it's not a track car when referring to the R. It's a marriage between GT3 and RS, how is it not capable of being a track car. Just marketing non sense to me.
