Current news on 991.2 GT3
What is the latest news on this car?
Launch date? Have deposits started to be taken by dealers/allocations? Revisions over 991 GT3? Thanks |
All still speculation as far as i know.
Yes, dealers are taking deposits on yet to be announced future cars - Ive had deposits down for a 991.2 GT3 and 991.2 GT3 RS for ~2 yrs. i also already put down deposits for the 992.1 GT3, 992.1 GT3 RS and 960, too. Who knows if any of those will exist, but i can only hope. |
My dealer told me they will start to take orders this fall. But i would not place a money bet on this info.
|
My dealer told me they don't even know when they'll receive allocation information and so they only have a list for now, no deposits or promises. (This is from one of the older and well-established dealers in the SF Bay Area)
|
I have a deposit on one but have not heard any official word on the car yet. I'm only interested if a manual tranny is available. Anyone know when we can expect that info?
|
SOP, little information, then it's too late. lol
|
Hopefully I'll be on full recon at the 24 Hours next week!

Nice to see a few more Canadians on this thread. My inside Porsche connection says Geneva 2017, 4.0, PDK S or MT. Sorry, could not give me any specs on the rpm.

Does your friend say anything about the redline or hp? Hit 500hp?
When I talked to AP and Walliser, no specific numbers were stated. But the engine that will go into the .2GT3 is right now inside the GT3R race car. And yes, the next GT3 will have a race proven engine. |
Same as above but US dealers were once again told no 4.0 due to cost of the unobtanium crank as well as pissing off the ugly 911R (dewinged GT3) folks.
