I don't think the RS is making 50 hp more than R, otherwise the R wouldn't be 8 mph faster Vmax (despite draggy wing). I bet the ram-air is good for around 15 hp at 193 mph. It's possible that the RS is under-rated at 500 hp, but not just due to ram-air... (R is probably under-rated by same amount at normal speeds).
Agreed, probably closer to 525 than 550. A combination of ram-air and under-rating/conservatism
Either that, or the RS side intakes have no impact on power and Porsche just saved money by using the Turbo rear fenders rather than creating unique pieces for the RS.
Someone on Rennteam reports that the R includes PCCB in the price (which means it's cheaper than RS, similarly equipped) and comes with RWS and mechanical LSD (rather than E-Diff).
Grant. All of that I believe is correct. MT means mech diff (easiest). Im just hoping its better than their usual chocolate affairs (Ive rebuilt a few factory M220 option LSDs over the years with Guards packs - they dont give much more than 3000 track miles and they are toast). PCCB contributes to headline weight.

I changed out my 997.2 diff for a GT diff, what a nice difference on the track. This will hopefully allow the same thing and who knows, maybe the clutch packs are no longer made of chocolate, but something that will last.
