How slippery is the surface? Is it textured? I know you don't have issues with rain in AZ (lived in PHX for 3 years), but here in TX, moisture is abundant.

It is a rougher tile so I hope it isn't slick. Like you said though, in AZ, it doesn't matter. haha.

mind sharing what brand and any specifics on it? I've gotten some local quotes and nothing in that ballpark - i'm assuming that's not an installed price, but just material?

Sorry, but I don't have a clue. I am a homebuilder and went to my tile supplier. I asked him what he recommended and he sold me some stuff that he had that was really reasonable. Something around $2.00 sq ft for the material only. Contact him if you want. Tanner Tile in Chandler AZ. Talk to Al and tell him you want to know what the tile was that he put in Joe's detached garage recently. For projects like this, we usually ask him what his good deal of the day is on Porcelain tile. He usually has something he is trying to sell or something he bought a railcar full that is a good deal. After all, it's a garage, so it doesn't have to be the nicest designer stuff out there.

I finally have something to add to this thread! Currently doing the floor in my house (also AZ). Floor & Decor. Porcelain. Industrial grade. Textured. 1/2" thick. $1.59 a sq ft. Bought enough to also do the garage. For garage use, you can use an epoxy based grout, or get to sealing the sand based grout asap. Smaller the grout lines the better. Promise I'll post pics of the garage when I get to it!

I'm going to use this thread for some solid motivation to get my garage cleaned up this spring. Here's the back half of my 4 car (2 cars deep). The front half is filled with Subarus and ski/snowboard gear and another bicycle or three. This weekend I'm going to sort and inventory the tools and prep for a few wall cabinets I have laying around, ready to hang. And measure to see if I can hang the Bronco's top over the Porsche snug to the ceiling and still get in and out of it.

More progress! About 3 weeks left
So insulation is being finished today, sheet rock starts Monday and paint will follow. All while the cedar is being put on the outside and then stained. Floor will be poured the second week of May and I’m moving all the toys into their new home. Can’t wait. I’ll share more pics once the carriage style garage doors are built. Then onto having to pave my 1/2 mile driveway so I can get my cars in and out. Never ends.
