The first column: New rotors.
Second column: Absolute minimum wear limit

I decided to have all 4 pads replaced. They had plenty of thickness but they displayed pitting and cracking that most likely would have been OK but I want absolutely will be OK!
I just dropped my car off at GMG for the Gen 1 cage, Sparco Evo II seats, Schroth 6 points/Hans compatible, the center bypass and their track suspension set up. Looking forward to the "new" car before COTA. Shout out to Allen at GMG, great guy.

Sorry guys, I don't have answers to these questions. My GT3 tech and SA were out when I picked the car up so I didn't have anyone to ask all the same questions. I'll see if I can get some specific answers to these questions. Needless to say it looks like 30-40 track days out of a set of PCCB rotors.

What's different between the PCCB rotors fitted to the 918 and those on the incoming 991 GT3 RS? They appear to be the same size. Are they the same parts?
The reason I ask is that I had a long talk with David Donohue when he let me drive a PCNA 918 last fall. I quizzed him extensively on 918 PCCB rotor durability since my Carrera GT PCCB rotor life had been so disappointing. He told me that of the 7,000+ miles on the odometer, at least 4,000 miles had been on the track with the brakes being seriously abused. PCNA later confirmed that the car was wearing its original rotors and that they saw no reason to replace them now or in the future.
This situation is vastly improved over the Carrera GT. I am running MovIt replacement rotors (Surface Transforms) on the CGT to improve the track-day running costs with no difference in performance. If the 991 GT3 RS has the same PCCB rotor parts as the 918, it should work out pretty well for track driving.

PCCB on current Porsches are soooo much better than gen 1 & 2...such a difference.
Removing PCC for extended track usage isn't as much of a consideration as the old days!
Using Pagid RSC1 pads + Motul 600 or SRF = once heck of a track setup fro brakes on these cars.

I don't have as much time for the track as I once did, so it may take me a while. but hopefully we can compare that data to the wear on OE pads.
This will be on a GT4, though, which doesn't enter turns as hot of course. But maybe we'll get more GT4 data soon.

I did 2 track days at a former NASCAR short oval turned into a road course. Meaning heavy tire wear, really only 1 heavy braking zone. Checked at Dealership service and minimal to moderate wear after a total of 5 track days total. I am not really confident in their measurements, I did not see a form like the one David has. Anyone know of a decent home remedy for measurement? I'm going in to see the service guys this week and hope to find some kind of measure without buying a expense "porsche exclusive" tool. will see what I find

Burning Brakes
AFAIK, you can weigh the rotor. They don't wear in the traditional way, but get lighter. The minimum weight is imprinted on the hat, I believe.

As you can see from the table if F458/F430 front rotor if replaced with ZR1 you save approx 0.4 lbs of rotor weight.
How much is 100 grams (3.5 oz) weight to loss?. It's about 2.5 sets (10 sets per rotor) of these hardware.
