I have a C63 AMG (and three Porsches), and drove a bunch of AMGs at their Driving Academy a couple years ago. Overheating of the trannies was indeed a problem, but I'm hoping they've remedied that with this new E63 S version. Maybe good track tires and pads would address those concerns. May not be as fun on track as a GT3, but maybe fun enough?
They are "four lap" cars. One warm up lap, two laps at speed, and one cool down lap.
that is a great video link. thanks. m/t is doing some fun stuff
i wonder how a poll of 6/7gt3 owners would go with the question of 'have to give up your car for either viper or a 991 gt3'?
I had a 2002 Viper GTS, then 2004 GT3, then 2008 GT3 RS. The Viper TA may get me back into a Viper. However, the ACR may be the one to get if you can wait a while longer.
Awesome stuff! I love in the first part of the video, the honesty of showing the exact differences between the changed parts and the specific difference of the new electronically variable diff, no guessing here, they produced cutaways to highlight the updates. That is honesty in representation I can wrap my head around and respect. Good on Mercedes.
