It is nice that they have a redundant shifter on the center console in addition to the paddles.
My Cayenne can be shifted on the steering wheel or the center console and it is convenient. The Fiat is a PITA. When I drive to the Cars and Coffee, I typically stop by Starbucks to grab the coffee, so I bring the car and the coffee to the static race. Problem is that Fiat did not add cup holders to save weight so I have to hold Hot Coffee with the right hand, and drive one-handed GT3DE style with the left, so I can only downshift, and I cannot upshift unless I switch hands on the Coffee, it takes a lot of time. A center console shifting lever allows me to shift gears up and down with coffee on hand. The American market needs flappy paddles, a center console redundant shifter, at least two cup holders, an iphone holder (my Fiat iphone interface doesn't work with my iPhone5 anymore), sunroof, cushy seats with memory, bluetooth, navigation, front and rear axle lift, exhaust with loud mode and quiet mode, 30 mpg on the highway (thanks VW for the 918 Spyder), all these features should be standard in a $160k car that looks identical to the $80,000 entry level model. By the way, at $160k, the standard GT3 is getting awfully close to MP4-12C used prices. |

Come on Rad- you know as well as anyone that you can run the Fiat in full auto mode so you can sip the mocha without using the paddles. The center lever is stupid. |
