Mounting a pistol holster in your GT3/RS
I may regret this thread, but I'm interested in any suggestions or experiences with creative locations and/or mounting solutions to secure a pistol in my RS while I'm driving. Both IWB and OWB holsters are uncomfortable to say the least in the LWBS, partially because I'm an older, fatter dude. I was thinking of trying to secure something behind the passenger seat, but that may not be easy enough to reach with varying passenger configurations AND I don't want to risk scratching the CF seat backs. I really don't want something rattling around or bouncing around in the various door storage options, so I'm hoping someone else has pondered this situation and willing to share their thoughts (IM is fine).
For anyone concerned:

This is why I never start any trouble with anyone driving, lol.
When I saw your post, the first thing I thought about was the ICON/TLC 4x4 build for Joe Rogan. Totally apples to oranges but the reason I mention it is because they custom made him a locking center console thing for handguns. I am not a gun person but I assume there is someone who could make you a slick solution that would bolt in/bolt out in a totally reversible fashion. |
Im interested as well for a 992 Turbo S. Following

The little hidden’ish flip out compartments in the door work well for a small single stack CCW. Easily accessible, almost completely invisible (use a dark colored cloth to cover it). I keep my extra G43 in there (I ccw a 43x with the 15 round mag).

The issue in the RS is lack of interior space. There is no time to access anything stored in the frunk - if you have time to do that, you have time to run away. So anything inside needs to be on you or within reach without having to adjust anything or unlock anything. |

Doesn’t exist in the RS. We get a small shelf in front of the speaker and a small net below the arm rest. :(

I installed a rail, holster, and other bits into my .2 GT3 for exactly this purpose.

NC is an open carry state, so this meets all requirements. |
So happy to live in Canada
Wow, can’t imagine needing a gun for protection in my daily life. So sad.

I completely agree it is sad. But it certainly beats being a sheep and that’s what everyone else is that counts on some other person to protect themselves and their family. That my friend is much more sad and dangerous.
Quick, someone post ‘it’s better to have it and not need it…’. Then we can finish with ‘these colors don’t run!’ and all head to Golden Corral for some chicken fried steak… |

:roflmao: less than 10 posts for the old lion/sheep trope to come out.

You must have a .2. My .1 RS has the ‘flap’ in the door and have considered that to be the best place for a small single stack. I think I’ll take another look and see what other creative places one can be mounted. My FJ has numerous great locations. The Porsche, not so much.
