Default GT2 RS Rear Wing Help

Hello,

I am an engineering student currently designing an active aero rear wing for a GT2 RS in class. I have searched far and wide for accurate dimensioning of the stock wing and have been left empty-handed.

I would greatly appreciate it if someone could supply me with the following:
***See image for clarification***

A) Distance between Uprights (Mounts)
B) Width of Wing
C) Depth/Width of Uprights (front to back dimension)
D) Hight of Uprights
E) Depth of Wing (Not Shown)

Thank You In Advance!

A = 42"
B=61.5"
C=9.5"
D=N/A as I have Baron Risers on my car and my factory risers are at my other residence (I believe the factory risers are 12.5")
E=12"

I would like to add that as an Aerospace Engineer, the dimensions you are requesting are not going to be sufficient to accurately model the aerodynamic flow of the rear of the car, nor predict downforce accurately. The rear wing is a parabolic design both side to side and front to rear (i.e. it is a curved surface). To accurately model air pressures of the wing you will need the 3D dimensions of the wing/endplates/ducktail and to build an an accurate downforce model you will also need the 3D dimensions of the car body itself, including the underside and the rear diffuser. As this may help you "back in to your model", The GT2 RS with the wing in its normal setting, generates 750 lbs of downforce at its 211-mph top speed, and when it's set to its maximum angle of attack, that figure increases to 992 lbs.

Here is a very good aero ground vehicle guide book:

Thank you I greatly appreciate it!!!

I will definitely check out that link as well.

I also appreciate your insight. I am using the car as a scenario piece in the proposal of the project however the actual design of the wing is to be independent of a specific vehicle and more as an exercise in the calculation, simulation and design of a product. If I am to take this project further I will definitely ensure to include the aspects you mentioned.

Regards,

Sorry, the numbers quoted for downforce are incorrect. Those are total numbers, the rear wing is only part of the equation. You need the effects of all components to hit those numbers.

Best of luck,

That is correct...my statement was worded clumsily...I should have said with the wing in its normal setting, the GT2 RS generates 750 lbs of downforce at its 211-mph top speed, and when it's set to its maximum angle of attack, that figure increases to 992 lbs.
