Default GT3 Racecar question..

Hi all,
I play iRacing online and lately have found myself in a GT3 alot. I was wondering if you guys could answer a question. Occassionally the car makes a buzzing noise..like an electronic noise. It seems to be related to the transmission maybe? Anyone know what this buzzer is trying to tell me?

I'm a little confused.....Are you asking what is the buzzing noise you hear while playing online?

You're probably hearing the compressor pump for the paddle shift. The Cup, GT3R, and RSR all have pneumatic sequential shift gearboxes.

Sorry..lol its not a pc buzz question..lol. The car in the smulator makes a Bzzzz when going through gears sometimes. I think its gear related anyway. Why would the compressor have a buzzer?

The compressor doesn't have a buzzer lol. It's the sound of the actual compressor turning on to fill the air tank used by the shift cylinder/arm. Each upshift/downshift from the paddles engages the shift cylinder which draws air from the tank. The compressor needs to periodically turn on to maintain pressure. The more you shift, the more the compressor is used.

Yep, that is the compressor.

See around the :25 second mark. The driver engages first which triggers the compressor:

That is definately it! Lol thanks..I couldnt figure out what the deal was because it seemed to have no rhyme or reason to when it happened. I thought it was an alert of some kind. Solved!

Speaks well for the accuracy of the sim. Haven't tried iRacing but have heard that it's excellent.
