Angry Christmas Gift fail! :( - Now available for sale - please make offer if interested!

My wife ordered these puppies for me as a surprise gift for Christmas however she did not have a plan to hide them appropriately. Just putting a tarp over it, in an otherwise uncluttered garage is bound to raise suspicion! needless to say I am happy with my surprise gift! That being said, as I undid the packaging I noticed some tiny chips in the paint which broke my heart! I would hate to send these back to the dealer since my wife said that the dealer had a 10 week waiting period between order and delivery. Do you guys have any advice for me?

Your wife went to the trouble of getting you this awesome gift, and you're willing to miss the winter season which she bought them for because of paint chips.. on winter wheels?? Think Big picture friend.. go put them on without wasting another second on this forum and take her out on a huge date in the car she bought the wheels for.

At end of the season you can get them fixed... they will have tons of these chips.

I could demand replacement and they will oblige but I will have to wait another 10-12 weeks and by then I will have no need for these wheels and tires since temperature will be back up or at least hope so!

I would put them on. Chipping on new wheels is strange though. Common on that finish after some miles though.

Possible to document the chipping in photos to the dealer and secure an agreement from them to pay to refinish down the road? Doesn't ruin the present (should be a big consideration), let's you use them, and gets you satisfaction down the road.

Get wheels that aren't chipped. Don't know why it would take so long to replace.

How bad is the chipping? Hard to tell from the pictures. In a couple it almost looks like there’s curb rash. A few minor chips and I probably wouldn’t care, but if it’s a rash I wouldn’t be happy. Have any closeups?
