Replacing windshield in FL
Hi, anyone with experience replacing windshield in south or central florida? Tampa would be best, Reeves or Bert Smith, but will travel for a good job. I really prefer a dealer install rather than a sub. It’s a gt3. Let me know, thanks!

After chasing around a little to close in the hills of SmokiesGT outing last year , mine needed replacing , Champion for the OEM win for me . Days job with an
oil change as well done . All good to date . |
I’ve always been told dealers don’t replace windshield....my wife tried this with a Panamera. Just did the Safelite thing and and told them to bring OEM only...no problem they did a great job at my house.

Reeves brings in Mike’s Auto Glass. The sales guy said they leave the glass to the glass experts. I guess it makes sense to me especially if it’s done at the dealer.

Auto Glass Warehouse in Fort Myers does an excellent job. Suncoast Porsche uses them.

My windshield cracked during a DE. Tried to do at dealer. More than one dealer told me they don’t do it and sublet to glass guys. I made sure it was OEM. Later found out there is no third party windshield for 991.2 GT3. So at least a year ago or so, the only option was OEM.

Call your insurance company and they will refer an installer who will get the glass for you. It won’t cost you anything and it will be done wherever you want.

Reviving this older thread as I need my windshield replaced in Tampa as well. Any news / changes in the past 2 years?
Thanks in advance. |

Thanks in advance. I’ve had no problem. I made sure Mike’s did it at Reeves though and as it turned out he needed some help from a tech. Reeves will know the guy at Mikes. He was really good. |
Thanks Victor, I wanted to check with the folks on the forum before I reached out to dealership and insurance. I'll reach out to Reeves and to Hagerty's tomorrow or Friday.

Thanks for the Mike's auto glass. I'll try and see when I have some time to get it to Reeves and get that fixed. |
Safelite can also get OEM glass: https://www.safelite.com/help-center...e-do/our-glass
A lot of Porsche dealers, including the dealer I use in Atlanta, uses Safelite to install glass to customer cars. |
