Windshield wires

Can anyone tell me what the wires embedded in the windshield are for?

Searched without finding an answer.

They reinforce the windshield from the high pressures as they function as downforce planes at speeds above 120 MPH. They also add rigidity, avoiding the dreaded flex as you go and trail brake hard into a corner.
