How well will the 991.1 GT3 RS hold its value?

Hey all,

Didn't get my allocation on my 2018 GT3 Touring and recently had the pleasure of driving a 991.1 GT3 RS for 24 hours and fell head over heels in love. This is something I'd like to add into the garage, but I'm wondering how well the value on this will hold with the current GT3 rolling out and the 991.2 GT3 RS just around the corner? I'm in Canada and most are listed between $255,000-280,000 CAD. I don't have any qualms being in the mid-$200,000 range, but I also don't want to wake up a year from now and have a car sitting in the garage worth $70,000 less.

Thoughts?

Thanks in advance :)

Once people realize how hard it is to get .2RS, I believe the value will only go UP not DOWN.

I do recommend getting .1RS at the moment and if finances allow, get 2 or 3 and use them as an investment.

You will thank me later.

Oh god... please no... not another one of these.

But, since I am up and and this is becoming like an automated response... Probably well NA flat 6 is still nice in them, but they are still going to drop. RS is a great car/always will be... Will it be worth what you paid for it this March compared to next? Well that's just something you'll have to find out.

Best of luck!

RL needs to write a script that automatically rejects any new threads about values.

Another pointless value thread... exactly what RL needs.

I just went to a Porsche valuation presentation by Nathan Merz, a Panorama contributor and well respected inspector of Porsche cars.
This was for the local PCA, interestingly the local dealership salesmen were invited and NONE showed up.
Basically all GT cars hold their value more than others unless some rare car. RS are even better.
The only GT car not going up at the moment is the 991.1 GT3 ONLY because the .2 is coming out and 991.1s are being traded in.
Onces that stabilizes the 991.1 will take its place with the others.
When I asked him would there be any difference in the 991.2 GT3 because of the tranny, he said
"NO because of the numbers of each being made there wont be a difference in manual or PDK values"

It's probably gonna drop because in the used market it's now simply a cheaper alternative to the 991.2 RS version with no performance, significance or other benefit. How much? Who knows.

it will drop some, but not as much as most think, because Porsche is making far less .2 GT3 than anticipated, the price is delta is huge between a moderately used .1 and the currently new price of a .2 with 25K ADM. Also. 2 RS should be even harder to get than .1 RS, with even larger ADM for .2 RS than for .2 GT3.

All that will help stabilize .1 GT3 values.

Thanks all for the help :) Well, to those who actually helped.

Sorry for the question, it sure seems to have annoyed some people and I'm not sure why? I don't frequent the board too often so I wasn't aware this was such a terrible thing for people to have to read. I mean, I guess you could have always just ignored the thread but I guess some have marginally more time on their hands than others. Apologies for not spending my existence on a Porsche forum...

Really how is ANYONE suppose to answer that?....Are they supposed to use their magical crystal ball to predict the future?

Selling my GT3RS - originally a Canada car Voo Doo 1600 miles 18w steels. Paid 245 offered 260 now asking 225 and have a few people interested but for some stupid reason like a few of these posts :) people look down on a Canada car - again no idea why. Dealer offered 215 but suggested waiting to sell or consign as dealer feels market is soft but will go up. Hopefully getting a .23RS and may keep my current too. If the .23RS is hard to get the .1 goes up if not it goes down. Long term these are special NA cars both which will be rare. RL sees these cars and threads but in the real world an RS is a special car. Spending money is only fun if you can enjoy what you spent it on - buying to sell or even the thought is IMO brain damage regardless we all do it.

The fact that there are people making valuation presentations about current, late model Porsches has gotta be one of the signs of the coming apocalypse.

considering they are still going over MSRP, get as many as you can and invest.
