For those doing ED or PEC

Can you have the car undetailed with original factor covers upon delivery?

C.J. Ichiban 01-09-2018 11:12 PM

That would seem a weird request as most people do PEC/ ED so they can drive the car...

I know C.J...=), but incase I wanted the car protected before driving haha

Also curious if PEC would bypass California DMV registration stuff and smog testing if buying from out of state

Not sure....but I'm set for ED early April and decided not to worry about paint/PPF, life is too short...also I think Porsche will want to present the car in its top condition for you to inspect the car prior to taking delivery

Was initially planning to take delivery then have the GT3 taken straight to SchwabenFolia from Stuttgart for a couple days for front PPF, but realized this is a trip of a lifetime and I want the experience/memories of taking the car from its place of birth straight to the open roads of Europe for my first euro delivery

Figured once the car arrives stateside at C.J.'s then I'll figure out paint correction and PPF, if there are minor nicks here or there...they'll remind me of an epic trip hopefully :)

Maybe I'm weird, but peeling the plastic off a new toy is like heroin to me.

At the PEC, you don't drive your delivered car in the driving modules, you get a similar car in service at the PEC.

I asked this question prior to my PEC delivery, which I just did today. They will not allow you to accept the car with the stickers at PEC. You must allow them to prep it, since that is part of their protocol. Not sure about ED.

I’m doing ED at the end of May and have reached out to SchwabenFolia re getting the vehicle wrapped but can’t get a response. Would be interested to hear back from anyone that’s used them.

Not sure what you mean by this, but if/when you register the car in CA you will have to produce a smog certificate no matter where the vehicle was purchased.

Have heard really good things about them from my own research and after back and forth emails with Sandro (head guy there). He responded to all my emails when I was considering using them, but they do take a little while to get back to you on email

They will detail the car at the PEC, cannot avoid It. I think they don't want to have a dirty car being delivered in their premises, and other makes are particular about this also (e.g. BMW).

Great, thanks. Any chance you can PM me the e-mail for Sandro?

Quick question - if you do PEC delivery in LA, do you get track time - or is it just a lunch and tour? SA is telling me no track time.
