One interesting aspect that it must be noted by dealers or those associated that this issue is a fairly sensitive topic to get the traffic volume that it has. The reality is the majority of us (including myself) where quite quick to get on the bandwagon in a mob like fashion behind the cause. (misrepresented or not)

Ive mentioned numerous times that whilst Im not a car dealer I am business owner dealing with clients in similar circumstances and you ignore this sort "market reaction" at your peril.

If I was running Mainline and aware of this thread, I can bet I would have two PR trains of thought, ignore and hope it dies and goes away or tackle head on and put a simple well written statement out to calm and least get some counter balance in the debate. But damn at this stage the second option to try and put the company in a better light would be looking a better option, given 360 people commenting and thousands of views, its getting more negative attention that I would hope by ignoring it.

The OP and GT2 are close to being considered collateral damage now.. this is Dealer Vs Rennlist Forum Mob Lucky half of us struggle to spell twitter let alone know how to generate a trend on twitter...otherwise it would be a nightmare. !!

i am curious to know what happened in the end. Slightly OT, I do wonder what would happen if someone called you out on the internet and you met them in person. There are times Im like I might kick that persons *** if they said that to me in real life. On some level I find the perceived threatening statement interesting, what would happen?
As for locking the thread, I do think that pissed everyone off, we were getting the lynch mob together, then it got shut down.
I think people should stick to their word, even if the situation is worked out one of the options should have been to honor the original deal.
People are curious, yes they deserve nothing, but it would be polite to give some resolution
Heres an example of proactive, If any of you do business with B&H photo, anytime people talk crap about them on the DPR forum some guy from B&H gets on and defends the company and many times that clarifies a situation.
The underlying issue here is the same one many have, is POTML a dealer or a car broker at this point

Im the one that was "threatened". Honestly I just laugh at stuff like that. Its stupid. I do know that if push comes to shove an someone did try to attack me in person- they would not enjoy the experience very well.

Im 6'4" 240 pounds and more than capable of taking care of myself.

Regardless, I think that was an error on the OPs part to threaten the way he did. Its childish and doesnt accomplish anything.

I thought this whole situation boiled down to simple miscommunication between the buyer and the dealer.

I think the OP can lock the thread himself and then admin just opens it.....didn't know you can lock a thread you started but evidently you can....
