A friend of mine arrived to stay with me this weekend in a new GT3.2. Took my GT3.1 out for a back-to-back comparison.....and let me tell you...there is a huge difference.

The biggest difference is the bottom end snap. It is fantastic compared to the GT3.1. It really throws your head back.

Next is the sound. There is a real bottom end bark that is very different to the GT3.1 with much more induction noise. Also you would almost swear that this thing had LWFW considering the noise.

Third the ride which is also measurably better. It's more compliant but handles better. How they have done that, I do not know.

Fourth is looks. In the flesh it looks a whole lot better than the GT3.1. In the rear view mirror, it looks like a CUP car!

Made me want my in-coming GT3.2 even more...which by the way has been delayed at least two weeks. All GT3s have been held up on the production line.

And just because I can, I also had my red 964 RS out for the day so made for a nice photo sandwiched between the two white GT3s. A red rose between two thorns!!

Just got back from a track day in my 15 GT3. Hard to believe there will be that much of a difference. The 991.1 GT3 is the best car I've owned and at the track, it's unworldly. I THINK a manual with 15 more HP and better aero will have to driven very proficietly to best a well driven pdk .1 GT3.

As evidenced by the threads about wing delete and a touring version with a back seat, I'm not sure the GT3 is judged by the customer base mostly on track performance any more. The perception is that Porsche has softened up the 911 in to a luxury car and that more hard core owners want a visceral experience for road use.

There was a poll recently and I was surprised by how many people plan to buy the .2 GT3 as a street car with no intentions of taking it to the track. Good for them - but the buyer persona of the GT cars is shifting for sure.

great pics and review. nice to see them side by side. I've enjoyed reading your insights on RL, very informative. Counting the days until my GT3.2 arrives.

Thanks for the pictures. I have personally struggled with my order as I have until 09/18 to lock in my build. I have the build on the car dialed in but just keep waffling on the color. My current 3.1 is all black. I don't want to do that again with all the black accents on the 3.2. I flip between white, silver and carmine.

Oh well. I guess there's worse things in life to struggle with right?!

Thanks again sir.

- Chris.

Thanks, I need others who understand - family are sick of looking at configurator options and listening to me prattle on about it - this particular quest started with rumors in late 2015 when I missed out on the r. It's definitely a drug this site, no limits with this group

Awesome Chris. Seems to be more difference to gen 1 than we anticipated. Makes me want it even more now ! Does make the unexpected delay even harder to swallow though !

Excellent feedback!

The .2 looks huge compared to the .1 (They both look like monster trucks compared to the 964 ). I know most of that's probably because of the camera angle, but did you get a sense if it looks/feels bigger? Maybe because of the taller wing? I don't know if anyone knows off hand if the .2 is actually longer than the .1.
