Default New to me 2016 GT3 RS...Ultra Violet

Hello I just purchased an ultra-violet GT3RS from the Collection in Florida. Car looks great. One owner prior with 1800 miles on it. Any special info about this car I need to know? I'm a longtime 930 owner (had my 82' 930 for 31 years now!) so I'm very familiar with the motor hanging out back thing but this is a completely different animal. I have been racing motorcycle for 30 plus years and now its time to put a cage around me on the track. Any suggestions on where to start? Just do a few track days or sign up for some PCA driving events?

Thanks for your input

Pete

Bike racers tend to do very well in cars since they understand the balance and are used to speed. The RS offers an amazing breadth of ability, allowing you to just find a relaxed flow to getting very challenging on the limit. You really cannot go wrong, but just ensure the geo is good and keep it close to factory. Then you can start playing with ARB front and rear. For benign handling go a bit softer rear than front, to avoid cording on outside rears, reverse that. Best to leave ESC/TC on until you have full confidence in the car's reactions when pushing.

Congrats!

Bring a little oil and drive to track..
It's good to go out of the box, enjoy.

It will be a walk in the park compared to 930

^ What he said, esp the relative to 930 part! Don't bother messing with set up. Hit some PCA events or find some locals at another track day and join. Miles = smiles.

In South Florida sign up for a Performance Driving Group (PDG), event or Hooked on Driving (HOD). If you have little or no experience they provide coaches for free or at a nominal cost. With your bike experience you should solo quickly and off you go. PCA can be a bit less user friendly as they have tougher rules and they can be a more crowded at their more popular events.

I'm in your area and track a yellow GT 4 and a white RS. Hope to see you out there...

Cheers

Pete ,
congrats on a big brother to your 930 with your new RS , look forward to hearing your impression

in addition to PDG , HOD , and PCA DE's , Chin Motorsports Club runs a very tight skilled bunch at a pace a notch over the aforementioned , PBOC another Club worthy of note .

If you are in south Florida start off with an event at PBIR, get feel for the car on a smooth surfaced track and then head to Sebring to set the hook .
