Default Ahhhh, a clean lap at the Glen

Nothing better than some time in upstate New York on my favorite track, especially when it's the last session of the event and there's lots of clear track in your windshield

PB'd at 2:01.64 in the RS

Nice lap. Here's a different perspective from my Radical last month during a practice session for the North American Masters race.

Great laps! Here's my lap from last years NASA Nationals, PTB Firebird Formula, 320 RWHP 3400 Lbs, best of a 2:05.1

Best Regards,
Dave

I only discovered the Glen this year but it immediately became one of my favourites (tied with Road Atlanta and Tremblant). Heading back to WG next week for the Chin Motorsport days in this new toy.

Wow! That Radical has grip. 116mph at the apex of the carousel is impressive.

Just to keep us all humble, Penske and a few others were doing Indy car test and tune laps at the end of the day and by my watch they were running 1:26. It looked like they were braking at the 100 foot mark going into the bus stop

Then again, I am a driver and crew of 1, while there had to be more 60 people there to support the three cars on track.

Here's a short video of their test and tune into turn 10 and the bus stop:

It'll be the car's maiden outing so hopefully there aren't any major issues. It's a 2017 Dallara F3 built to EuroFormula Open specs. Given that it has 1.5x - 2x the downforce of the Radical and weighs 300 pounds less, I expect my neck to be more than a little sore by the end of the 2 days!

Hey Kevin,

Still sorting the flatting the left rear issue. I think it's a matter of going out with pressures to low to get to the desired hot pressure. Compromise will be to run higher hot temps or pitting and bleeding air off. The latter is too much of a hassle, so I'll see how it feels with higher hot pressures. I was aiming for 29F/30R hot, which meant going out at 20-22F, 18-20R in the morning and doing 3 full warm up laps, but the soft laps were damaging the left rear side wall. I am going to try going out at 24-25 and running hot 36-37. The MPSC2s are really holding up well.

For R7's (same size and wheels set up as you) on the GT3, I start at 25/26 cold and the car feels best (and get my best lap times) at 33/35 per the in-car TPMS which is usually 1-2 PSI less than 3 different analogue gauges I've tried, at pit in/out from LSS (WGI) or Braden tire (CTMP)...so 35/36 hot.

looks like you are back at the Glen in August for the GVC-BMW/NiagaraPCA event--I will see you there

Awesome lap joe. When we were there for ARPCA you were running 2:02s and now you're down in 2:01. That's damn good. Maybe we'll see you at WGI with RTR?
