That journalist should be banned from doing videos of cars of this caliber. Snore fest.

Agree with the rest... boring review... can I get my 13mins back? Yes, if you want to drive to and from the grocery store... get an R, you don't need a GT3. His 'version of playing' was G rated at best... never really stretching either vehicle.

Thanks for posting OP.
I've found the video decent and aimed towards most viewers rather than a dedicated technical piece. Sometimes even Chris Harris can be a bit much with his stupid power slides,or Jethro with his snarky smirk and comments.
I think a lot of the irritation towards this journo has to do with the fact that he prefers the R...a car that the majority of us couldn't have and for that reason many wanted it to be a failure. That is why, when the 991.2 GT3 came with a manual and a better engine, many jumped to discount the R out of frustration. But that's ok,we will move on...
The R's suspension seems to be geared more towards street usage, the car is lighter and more compliant. No surprise there!
This is the first video where I can definitely say, without a doubt, that the rigid valve train sounds different...better IMO.
The rest is old history...nothing compares to a good manual! Manual FTW!

I think the irritation with this journos video is that he's so ambivalent. I'm not blaming him as the cars are similar, but we tend to dislike indecision, and praise strong opinions.. think Jeremy Clarkson. Also.. the biggest difference is the engine, and completely ignores that aspect..

I, too, would have liked more of an objective comparison between the two, and less of his personal preferences.
Made no sense to debate manual vs. PDK with himself in that segment.
I did find it interesting that his first impression of the GT3 was how much louder it is, considering the R supposedly has minimal sound deadening. It would have been nice if he had expounded on this.

80% of car journalists are completely useless.
